CarComplaints.com Notes: An increasing number of Toyotas are experiencing excessive oil consumption and the 2007 Camry seems to be leading the charge.

Owners are reporting that their engines are deprived of oil halfway through their maintenance schedules and in some cases the damage is so bad that entirely new engines need to be installed, paid out of pocket. The issue may be a result of defective piston rings.

Toyota has issued a TSB for this problem, but maintains their stance that vehicles equipped with a 2AZ-FE engine are burning through a “normal” amount of oil.

Vibration at 45 MPH. Does toyota have a problem with Axles? I have seen others with the same issue at about 130,000 miles.. it is a very expensive fix of ~ $1400 per axle per the dealer. I bought a toyota for quality but this expensive of a repair makes owning a Toyota expensive.

Camry ES 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 33,000 miles

To start off, my wife drove the new car off the lot. I noticed that the rear hub cap was out of round so the dealer replaced it. After that, with the car having about est. 25000 miles started to get a vibration in the car. I took it to the dealer and they told me the tires were shot. Which I did not think that. So, I bought a complete set of tires. Vibration still there, so I took it back to the dealer, they took it to a goodyear dealer here in town and had the tires balanced on the car. The goodyear dealer told them that I had a tire on the left rear out of round. I took it back to the place where I bought it and told them the problem. They replace it and the vibration still there. Since then, the toyota dealer replace the front tires and told me that I should replace the rear (brand new) tires. So, tired of messing with this problem, I did. Vibration still there, Now that I have replace 3 complete sets of tires, balanced 3-4 times, realigned 3-4 times, had the brake rotors turned because of uneven braking. The DAMN vibration is till there when I go 42 mph and 72 mph. Now on top of that, I have contacted Toyota's regional office made a claim of things going on. Since then, they have contacted me by phone several times but still not call to say lets fix this problem. Oh yea! I have not told you, I now have a squeel in the front left wheel now. It has been 1 week and a few days since I turned in the claim and still no phone call. Wow! ESP As I was typing this the regional office called me and I told them, still not fixed and no call from anyone but you!
