CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 Camry used to be adorned with our “Seal of Pretty Good” but that was before an alarming number of complaints started rolling in for excessive oil consumption.

Owners are being caught off-guard with how quickly their cars are running out of oil. No leaks, no spills, just 1 quart of vanishing oil in as little as 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains this is “normal” for the 2AZ-FE engine, even though they issued a TSB for the problem in August of 2011.

We purchased this 2009 Camry in Venice Beach Fl after one year I started noticing a smell. During the winter months it wasn't as bad. Now summer 2013 it stinks. Come to find out the A/C has been leaking into the car. What sucks is the car has been looked at by those so called experts. They told us it was the leaves that accumulate on the vents outside the windshield , even brought a spray to spray the vents to remove the stench. Now we have taken the car seats out & removed the soaking wet carpet and padding. The A/C line was clogged because of the twist and turns in the line. Toyota sucks they said its not under warranty even though they know its the faulty A/C line they installed. The A/C line will be fixed. Now were faced with trying to locate new padding & carpeting. I don't think the padding is salvageable .
