CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 Camry used to be adorned with our “Seal of Pretty Good” but that was before an alarming number of complaints started rolling in for excessive oil consumption.

Owners are being caught off-guard with how quickly their cars are running out of oil. No leaks, no spills, just 1 quart of vanishing oil in as little as 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains this is “normal” for the 2AZ-FE engine, even though they issued a TSB for the problem in August of 2011.

Woke up in the morning to find my car had rolled into the street. Checked inside and the car was in park. Has to have creped because was still partially in the driveway. Encline in driveway is not very steep. Auto dealer never heard of that issue before. Made a search and found this website. Seems I am not the only one to have this issue. Same description, little touchy sometimes on acceleration and now moving while in park.

Bought a new Camry 2009 and noticed from the time I bought it the acceleration wasnt that great, very irregular. Seemed to be a bit jumpy. Not as smooth as my old corolla. Now the recall, and now im noticing other things like the car rolling after in park. Its done it twice first time 3 or 4 inches, today a couple of feet. Very dangerous and I am reporting it to the dealer tomorrow!!!!!
