I took my vehicle in to have routine maint and a/c fixed. After several days, several calls from the shop with "other" problems and several hundred dollars more than quoted I agreed. Got everything but the brakes done (too expensive). brought the car home n did the brakes myself. Simple job. But since I brought it home, the ABS light keeps going on and off and then the brakes started making a grinding noise and shudder/grabbing and pulls to the left when I am slowing down to a stop. I think they did something to the ABS system to make me come back and spend more money - cause they were fine before that - just normal wear. When it happens... the voltage gauge drops by half and returns to normal once I am stopped. I have found that if I gently pump the brakes before I start to slow down it doesn't happen. But that is not a solution !
This is very dangerous as sometimes the brakes just get rock hard and it is very hard to stop !!!!! I am reserved to take it somewhere as they always rake you over the coals for a 30 minute $10 job !! I know alot about cars and have good common sense but I am stumped on this one.
