My neighbor who also bought a '99 that same year had his brakes replaced at 24,000 miles. It seems unconscionable that a heavy vehicle like a Suburban should have inferior brakes. Criminal charges should be brought against the GM engineering department. I've had the brakes worked on multiple times because they ALWAYS wear out prematurely. Had to go with "lifetime" guaranteed brakes to solve the pads problem. Unfortunately, the rotors only last 70,000 miles or LESS.
