Also, 7/26/00, brakes pulled more on one side/grinding and smoking/rr return springs stated "weak and premature wear." At 13, 345 miles, brakes inspected and dealership stated calipers wkd. As per dsgned. At 8662 miles, battery failed. At 14, 681 miles, A/C system inoperable. Manifold hose was crimped and kinked. Hose replaced and system recharged. Grinding in rear reported. Dlrshp. Couldn't duplicate. At 18, 9091 miles, brakes grinding and pulling left; burning smell in A/C unit. Grinding still exisiting in rear of vhcle. Grinding sound in steering column. Hesitation when accelerating. Driver door not locking as vechicle driver door handle was pried (attempted break-in) into and door was damaged durin A/C service 2 mos. Prior. Dealship would not pay for repair and said I would have to pay @ $200. Lf brakes were metal to metal at that time/rear shoes were replaced/front pads replaced/both rotors were machined/lf rotor grooved too deep and replaced/road tested/still pulls left/swapped pads and tires fr. Side to side/vehicle still pulls left/re-built calipers/vehicle still pulls left/swapped rotors, now vehicle pulls right/rt. Side rotor blue from heat/replaced rf rotor/road tested and dlrshp. Stated, "operates normally." Unable to duplicate grinding in drive train or rear braking system per my complaint (again). Evo sensor replaced in power steering system/dlrshp. Could not duplicate hesitation when accelerating. One week later, at 19,000 miles, taken to dlrshp. Due to grinding underneath in rear of vehicle (6th request!!! or more), front end vibrates at 55mph and higher, mad shaking as if vehicle was going to roll when applying brakes going downhill at any speed. I was told repair paprwk would be mailed to me; hv not rcvd it. I have no idea what was done, but it had 2 wks. Worth of brake wk this last time arnd. I picked vhcle up on fri. And on sat, (nxt day), 19,150 mls (aprx.) A/C unit died. I refuse to pick-up vehicle!!! lemon!!! help!!!!
Brakes failed to stop and I hit 2 other cars. These brakes don't not stop this vehicle. At this crash the brakes went out totally. I had the brake pads changed 2 times on this vehicle already. The milage was only 1800 the first time. I would like to know if anyone can contact me about a class action lawsuit. Sassy112764@aol.com.
Vehicle pulls left and right and chatters vibrates. Consumer had brakes replaced 5 times in last 30,000 miles. Dealer has invested time in trying to rectify vehicle, such as checking tire and working on front end. If brakes are applied in a emergency situation vehcile will dive into another lane. Dealer hasn't been able to find a remedy at this point. Axle seals were leaking in front. Vehicle would not start in the am, had to be jump started.
When brakes were applied at 35mph pedal went to floor, resulting in extended stopping distance, and causing a collision which resulted in minorproperty damage. Dealer has performed 9 brake jobs prior to incident. Manufacturer has been notified. Chevrolet has agreed to repurchase vehicle.
Moisture develops in brake drums which causes one of the brakes to grab extremely hard. While raining or in very damp conditions, brakes grab and in one case it caused 2 people to bump their heads together, dealer stated this was normal braking and suggested that the consumer drag the brake each morning for 125 feet, after many calls and an incident where a horse was injured with a ruptured stomach, it could not be determined as to what caused the rupture, but consumer states the abrupt jerking from the brakes was not pleasant for the horse, dealer is supposed to be ordering a new 2001 Suburban for consumer because these have different braking systems.

Brakes have continally pulled to the left. Repeated ( six) repairs have not corrected the problem. It gets worse with milage and when driving in stop and go traffic.
Engine light came on and was taken in and found that the exhaust donuts were burned up and needed to be replaced at 52000 miles and at 64000 miles we are replacing the same ones again, I have had problems with the brakes and no one can seem to find the problems and we end up replacing the brake pads,
When driver hit brakes pedal went all the way to floor. Mechanic told consumer that right rear axle seal was leaking oil onto drum brakes. Dealership is aware of the problem.
ABS would prematurly engage whenever vehicle runs over a small bump in road. Also, has to apply brake pedal harder to get vehicle to stop. Vehicle been at dealer on two occasions, and they informed consumer that nothing could be found. Feel free to provide any further details on this matter.
Left side rear brakes wear out every 23ooo miles. Intermittently on wet pavements, when the brakes are applied, brakes lock up, resulting in extended stopping distance. Dealer has replaced parts of brake system.
When brake pedal was applied it went to floor, brakes did not respond. This had to be repeated several times before brakes responded. Dealer has been contacted. The vehicle had been to the dealer 3 more times for brakes squeeling.
While driving vehicle lost brakes after applying them to slow down. Was tenth time problem has happened. Had rearended another vehicle at 25mph. Mechanic could not resolve issue. When vehicle was towed, tow driver noticed problem with brakes. Been to two different dealership, problem has not been resolved.
Intermittently when brakes are applied pedal is normal. However, vehicle experiences extended stopping distance. Dealer has inspected vehicle, and has not been able to duplicate or correct problem.
Brake pedal went to floor without stopping vehicle. Battery acid leakage ran down battery cable and corroded hydraulic line, causing failure (independent mechanic assessment).
Exhaust system which has been replaced twice makes a grinding and crunching sound. It's still under warranty.brake system has been replaced twice. All together vehicle has been in shop for brakes about several times. Brakes failed while traveling at 45mph with no warning. Emergency brakes were used to stop. Consumer had to pay for service only first time. Dealer has been nice about it, consumer wants a new vehcile.
I have had problems with the brakes on this vehicle for 1+ years and for 18,000 miles. The dealer has done all he can do and the Chevrolet teachnical service people have not responded for help and evaluation. The vehicle seems to not be repairable atthis point of time. Braking at any speed pulls the vehicle to the right or left without warning.
At 973 miles vehicle has been experiecing ongoing problem with vibration when applying brakes. Vehicle been in dealer shop on several occasions and problem still reoccurring. Sometime brakes hang up and smoke when applying.
Consumer has several problems with vehicle: Front end pulls to the right and left while driving, there are front end alignment problems, it has been aligned, however still pulls to the right and left. Engine is burning antifreeze, when checked shortly after vehicle was serviced the oil was down 2 quarts, vapor recovery tank was empty, antifreeze/water level in antifreeze in radiator was down 1 quart, head gaskets leaking antifreeze into the combustion chamber and burning the antifreeze, check engine light illuminated, coolant level in radiator dropped once the engine was started, there was a minute amount of exhaust gases coming out of the filler neck of the radiator and the water level slowly dropped in the radiator. Vehicle pulls drastically to the left while braking, dealer has replaced brake pads and rear shoes and has refaced rotors and drums, pulling still exists, dealer also replaced the proportioning valve. Transmission makes a ticking noise. A specialist looked at vehicle and observed that when the engine was started, it charges at 15.1 volts direct current which is overhcarging the batter, even after vehicle ran for 15 minutes, the vehicle was still charging at $14.71 volts, the battery has failed 4 times, it has leaked and corroded, check gauges light came on and all gauges went crazy. Vehicle idles high, dealer replaced idler air control valve. Driver side mirror will not turn side to side, dealer replaced faulty mirror switch.
