CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Edge has its fair share of problems, but chief among them is an annoying “door ajar” warning light that won’t shut off even when the door is most definitely closed. While the retina-burning, ever-present false reminder on your dashboard is bad, it points to a deeper problem that can drain the battery, leave the doors unlocked while in motion, or render the key fob useless.

The rear window shattering is obviously a reoccurring problem so why doesn't Ford have a recall!

At the very least they should pay for replacement!! Researching the history of Ford SUV this has happened 1 too many times, thank God my FAMILY was not injured!

Rear window of my 2013 Ford Edge disintegrated - no rhyme or reason. Insurance would not cover; Ford dealer stuck head in sand and had all kinds of excuses - none of which made sense. Did not blame them - just wanted to know if it was a manufacturer defect but they refused to answer.

Car was parked outside for 90 minutes. When we left the car, the temp gauge said it was 77 degrees outside. 90 minutes later when we got to the car, the temp outside said 70. Anyway, we were away from the car for 90 minutes. Came back to the car to find that the rear window had shattered.. And the glass shattered OUT -away from the car. If something hit the window to cause the window to break, I believe the glass would shatter into the car. Purchased the car in August 2013 and car only has 9300 miles on it. Hoping this is covered under the warranty.
