CarComplaints.com Notes: There was plenty of hope that Ford would fix their “door ajar†warning light issue for the 2014 model year. This widespread problem has caused the previous 3 model years to stay on top of defect trend lists.
So far, the 2014 Edge doesn't share the poor reputation of prior model years.

The "Sync" voice commands stinks! It takes several attempts for it to recognize voice commands. Yes, I know Ford says that you have spend time sitting in your vehicle practicing voice commands. ????? I understand that there is a learning curve...but 6 months (slow learner, I guess). STILL NOT ANY BETTER! The Ford dealer where I purchased the vehicle said that they saw a problem but I would have to come back for them to work on it. When I did, I got the runaround and just left. At a different dealer, they didn't find a problem????? Who's right?
Forget the navigation...I had a cheap Garmin that worked ten times better than this system. First, sometimes the system will not find or accept an address (voice or touch). The only way was to download from the mobile phone app. But according to Ford rep "No problem was found". When the system does not accept an address, there's a problem! Also, POI's (points of interest) do not show up (on screen or in POI list) even when you can see them in the next block, there might be a problem.
It's pretty bad that you pay $750 for Ford navigation and it does not work properly.
Advice...buy a Garmin.
