Explorer XLT V6

First, my overdrive light kept flashing and I found out that I needed to replace the Speedometer Speed Sensor. Once I replaced that the light went out, but my shifting has been terrible since. My transmission is clunking and it sounds awful when it's shifting gears. It shakes and the engine goes out because it seems to struggle. The car was running great at 155k miles but once it hit 156k, the life of the car seems to be over. Such a pain because the value of the repair far exceeds the value of the car at this point! WILL NEVER BUY FORD AGAIN!

Explorer XLT 4.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 190,000 miles

My transmission in my 95 Explorer must have a mind of it's own. A few months ago, it started slipping, so I changed the filter and fluid, did fine for 2 or 3 weeks, and now its slipping again. It was just randomly at first, now sometimes when I take off from a standstill it shifts out of first, then act like it goes directly into neutral, and then jerks really hard. And when it's not doing that, every time I go the transmission shifts from first to second, it's shifts very hard. Hopefully it'll keep working, just no more long trips; don't wanna end up broke down hours and hours from home. Lol. Any advice or previous experience on this kind of issue would be great
