Consumer was traveling about 75mph on highway and cruise control was set on 75. Mph. Was climbing up a hill, and cruise control continued to speed up.consumer applied brakes and vehicle continued to speed up. Dealership was aware of problem. There were no injuries reported.
Throttle hangs in closed position especially when engine is at normal operating temperature. This condition began occurring shortly after purchase. (about 1500 miles). This same condition occurred on a 1994 4.0 L. V-6 Explorer driven 34000 miles. Dealer was unsuccessful in resolving the problem.

Have received two mfr's recalls and unable to get honor; 99 V 164 000/secondary hood latch & 99 V 062 001/ cruise /speed control cable. Dealer stating parts are not available. Please provide any further details:
Vehicle experiences a power loss when accelerating from a stop while making a left turn causing the potential for right side impact. This has happened on several occasions. Dealer has tried to correct the problem through PCM updates, but they are unable to reproduce it.
Was going to beach, tried to set cruise control at 70, went up to 72, pushed again, now going 78, , tried to turn cc off, pushed brakes and cc off button, let off braks, car speeds up to 82, pushed braked to floor, held continuously down for apprx. Mile, smoke everywhere from brakes, got down to 50mph, put car in neutral, was at least 1/4 T/ 1/2 mile with riding brakes before car stopped, had it hauled to dealership, was informed this had never happened before, am now afraid to drive car when it is repaired, it was in the dealership in 99 for the cruise control recall, they claim they have sent the parts in to the Ford laboratory, they still do not know what went wrong, said either the cable or the module.
Vehicle experienced problem with deceleration after acceleration. Within seconds, vehicle would lurch forward and then start to operate normally. Dealer notified, Ford is not providing help with repairing vehicle.
PE00999, while vehicle is at a stop and proceeds, vehicle idles very high which causes engine to rev, and may cause sudden acceleration. Owner places the vehicle in neutral position to stop the idling.
Driving down a two way street another vehicle was trying to pass from behind. When applying brakes to slow down, vehicle stalled and within seconds it accelerated.
Recall 99V0620000/ cruise control. Ford insisted that recall repairs had not been done because vehicle had been serviced in Oklahoma at a Ford dealer only. Owner had not taken vehicle to any other dealer for recall repairs. Ford could not provide any additional information.
Vehicle experienced sudden acceleration while turning a corner and the consumer loss control of the vehicle, vehicle ran off the road, through a fence and slammed into a tree causing injury to consumers neck and back. Nlm
