Explorer Sport 3.5L Gtdi

DTC Code P0016 Crankshaft Position – Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1, Sensor A) and intermittent rough idle.

Dealer diagnosed as stretched timing chain and replaced chain, phasers, guides, etc for $3100.

Neither Ford Corporate or the dealership provided any repair assistance as vehicle was out of warranty.

There is no service interval for timing chain or related parts in manual, and chain should be life of vehicle. There IS a timing chain related TSB on the 3.5L EcoBoost for F150, but this has not yet migrated to the transverse EcoBoost.
