Focus ZXW SES 2.0L 4 cyl Dohc

  • Automatic transmission
  • 69,000 miles

Right side rear door will not lock either electrically or manually. This is a year after having the left side fixed for about $600. This is a safety and security issue! Why can't the locks at least be operated manually to provide appropriate security and safety?

The rear, left passenger door does not lock with the power locks. It will work again for a small time and then go back to being dysfunctional.

My driver side rear door doesn't lock. The mechanic I went to seems to think it is the door lock actuator motor. He says it would be $80 for opening the door panel and seeing whats wrong and if it indeed is the actuator, the local ford dealer tells our mechanic that it would take $110 for the motor. Any suggestions anybody?

MY REAR PASSENGER DOOR STOPPED WORKING, YOU COULD NOT LOCK IT FROM THE INSIDE AT ALL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ACTUATOR, WHICH THE PART ALONE IS $262.00 NOT INCLUDING LABOR, HE THEN CALLED FORD BECAUSE I WAS JUST OVER MY WARRANTY (OF COURSE ISN'T THAT WHEN EVERYTHING TAKES A SH--)? FORD TOLD HIM THEY WOULD TAKE ME UNDER WARRANTY AND FIX THE CAR FOR $100.00 CO-PAYMENT, WELL AT THE TIME I DID NOT HAVE THE EXTRA $100.00 TO FIX IT, THAT WAS 2 WEEKS AGO, NOW MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR IS NOT LOCKING EITHER, I AM SO PISSED OFF I'M READY TO CALL FORD AND LET THEM HAVE IT. ALL THE THINGS I HAVE READ ABOUT THESE DAMN FORD FOCUS DOORS IS REALLY HEATING ME UP...I KNOW THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAVE THIS PROBLEM, WE NEED TO STAND UP AND MAKE FORD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!

Focus Hatchback

Where do I start. It started with the airbag light coming on and not shutting off. No big deal, just that they airbag won't come out in an accident. Took it to a dealer and they got a code saying the light was burned out for and obviously, to them and myself, it wasn't. The light shut off and didn't come back on for them. They had me take it home. Next my doors wouldn't unlock, they are power locks. I tried the key, the keyless remote and nothing. After 5 minutes, they unlocked. Next they wouldn't relock. A few weeks later, the alarm goes off by itself. Noone around. It wouldn't shut off no matter what I did. Then when I went to get in the car it would not unlock again, and then after 10 minutes it would. And again it would not lock again.

Was changing the oil on it 2 weeks ago and notice a leak by the tranny. So took the stupid car back to the dealer and they still have it. They did find out why it was leaking. It was the tranny seals. They still can't figure out the electrical problem though. I will never buy a Ford again. This is ridiculus that a BRAND NEW CAR is doing this. I have many used cars and never had problems untill a couple of years and many many miles of drvinging it but after only 7 months!!!!????!!!!! GET REAL!!!!
