CarComplaints.com Notes: Even though the first model year of a major redesign should typically be avoided, Ford did a good job & the 2008 Ford Focus doesn't appear to have any major defects.

That said, the following model years of this 2nd generation Focus (2009-2011) do appear to be slightly better.

2008 Ford Taurus SEL Sedan - FWD - 3.5v6 - Titanium Green Metallic -----------------------------------------------------------------

In the winter the Dash Rattles and many of the door plastics between the driver side door and the cup holder area on the door seem to be rattling. Sometimes hard to tell which it is.

But definitely starting in the dash area. Once the car warms up a bit it isn't as bad but still annoying.

Update from Aug 16, 2016: *Correction

I had a 2008 Taurus ....accidentally put in it.

I meant to say 2008 Ford Focus SE - Vapor Silver - 2.0L 4spd auto Sedan.

In January 2013 my 2008 Ford Focus SE (auto) that I bought new in June 2008 started to develop dash rattle when it was cold after I started my car. Once i got going down the road and got heat in the car it wasn't as noticeable and would sometimes subside.

Seems like its coming from left of the driver steering wheel, upper area of the dash. Basically if you put your left hand up above the turn signal stock in and around that area roughly. It's really quite annoying.

Car is out of warranty (bumper to bumper wise as its now April 2013), I prob won't do anything about it...just put up with it. Prob cost more money than it's worth to try and fix or be bothered tearing apart.

I've never had a dash rattle like this before. I do always slow for train tracks & straddle pot holes & man whole covers & the roads in my area aren't that bad. Luck of the draw I guess. Not good Ford, not good.
