CarComplaints.com Notes: Even though the first model year of a major redesign should typically be avoided, Ford did a good job & the 2008 Ford Focus doesn't appear to have any major defects.
That said, the following model years of this 2nd generation Focus (2009-2011) do appear to be slightly better.

Took it to Fords, On the phone they told me it could stick and cause it to catch fire. Took it in first thing in the morning and it would have been covered under my extended warranty but they told me if it does not happen in front of them they can not fix it! Why buy a extended warranty if you have to break down somewhere in order to get it fixed! I believe in prevention!
