CarComplaints.com Notes: Even though the first model year of a major redesign should typically be avoided, Ford did a good job & the 2008 Ford Focus doesn't appear to have any major defects.

That said, the following model years of this 2nd generation Focus (2009-2011) do appear to be slightly better.

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Focus. The vehicle was not equipped with a spare tire, jack, and/or lug wrench at the time of purchase. The dealer stated that the vehicles do not come with spare tires, jacks or lug wrenches. The dealer attempted to locate a jack, spare tire, and wrench, but the manufacturer did not design a spare tire or jack for the two door Ford Focus. There had been no failure to date.
