Every time you turn the corner, go over a bump, up or down a hill there is a CLUNKING/THUDDING noise coming from the rear of the car. At first I thought there was a dead body or something in the under carriage, so I checked for that, but nothing.
My parents used to drive this car and had taken it in because it handled funny, come to find out the motor mounts were broken (at 15,000 miles) but FORD replaced them at no charge. They also found out the car is not properly mounted on the chassis which FORD told them was NO BIG DEAL. (Um, okay, that seems a LITTLE WEIRD, but I don't build cars for a living I do accounting.) They kept driving it with the thudding noise and kept taking it in because "HELLO THUDDING IS NOT NICE" they kept getting the same story "NOTHING'S WRONG. NOTHING TO SEE HERE!!"
I have been driving the car for a month. It seems to be getting worse. No one can help me with what could be causing it. No one can even give me a clue as to what it could be. The only thing I can think is that when you mount a car incorrectly on a chassis and the motor mounts break before 20,000 miles - and I only have 50,000 miles on it now - there MIGHT be a TEENSY problem. But hey, like I said I'm just an accountant who will never buy another Ford vehicle again.
