CarComplaints.com Notes: Ford changed a lot of things for its 3rd generation, just none of them were a good idea.

The transmission tends to hesitate and jerk when accelerating. The new electronically-driven power steering can fail suddenly and without warning. Even Ford's SYNC can be a headache. Actually, scratch that last one — it's always been a headache.

While cruising at 110kms, car misfired, check engine light came on, then the oil light, as well as the check engine light came on, pulled over to shoulder, popped the hood, oil everywhere. Towed it to Terrace Ford, mechanic found a hole near water pump, I assume the block, piston #4 incinerated, I have Steeda aftermarket parts, only a few bolt-ons, nothing concerning internal engine parts, Steeda also guarantees their parts won't void any warranty.

Ford is denying coverage due to parts even though the parts were not the cause of the damage, they're unable to prove parts caused the problem but are voiding my warranty anyways. Apparently they have to be able to prove the parts caused the issue to void my warranty. On FocusST.org under search criteria, type in 'engine blew', you will see many blown engines all involving piston #1.

I'm disabled and I'm on disability and can't afford the new engine so until I can take them to arbitration they now own the car, I refuse to pay. If they can prove the parts caused the problem I'd go after Steeda because of their warranty. Many people ask why change the parts under warranty, I felt safe with Steedas' warranty knowing Steeda has a partnership with Ford. I never knew how unreliable this 2.0 ECO boost engine was until now. I never would've bought it. My next move is to educate as many people as I can through media about Ford's Customer Service, or lack of it.
