CarComplaints.com Notes: Power steering problems started rearing their ugly head in the 2010 Fusion, so you'd think Ford had plenty of time to make sure those problems didn't creep into the 2012. But here we are.

The Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) is a mess. It fails at an alarming rate. Don’t believe us? Take a look at NHTSA’s data on the subject.

And much like the power steering, we’re still seeing the same throttle body failures that started in 2010 continue in 2012.

You'd think Ford could design a car where the freaking emergency cable doesn't freeze or lock the right rear tire. What kind of horse manure is this? Only happens on really cold nights. Setting emergency brakes something isn't releasing and it is making me late for work going forward backing up, going forward backing up till it's not dragging the right rear tire. Thanks

My brakes (what feels like) started locking up. It's coming and going. Happens at least once a week for last 2 months. Recently I was stopped waiting at drive thru and then when I let off the brake to continue driving my car wouldn't move. I accelerated more and finally dragged it into a parking lot. My car wouldn't go over 15mph, or 2 RPM, and when I let off of the gas pedal my car immediately abruptly stopped itself without me applying any brake! It felt like I was pressing brake while driving when I finally did decide to drive it. I drove it for about 3 minutes down the road (scared to death) to my dads. They freed up right when I got there. SOOOOO SCARY! Had baby with me and so thankful that didn't happen at a red light!!

Has been to 3 dealerships and no one can figure out what's going on with it without the problem happening right then. (never acts up when I need it to) They can see that my new front brakes have been hot but don't know what's causing them to apply themselves. Got Transmission computer updated today. When they got in my car to move it, they said it wouldn't move. They plugged it in and it showed Throttle Body. So they replaced that and we're all hoping that's what it was. Time will tell, as it doesn't do this every day so it's hard to tell. Comes and goes..
