CarComplaints.com Notes: Power steering problems started rearing their ugly head in the 2010 Fusion, so you'd think Ford had plenty of time to make sure those problems didn't creep into the 2012. But here we are.
And much like the power steering, we’re still seeing the same throttle body failures that started in 2010 continue in 2012.

I pulled over and did some quick research and come to find out that there had been other recalls for this problem with other vehicles but mine was not included in this recall but it was for the same problem and the same parts (rack and pinion).

Power steering failure. Power steering goes out while driving. Shutting off the car and restarting it seems to fix it. It's happened at least 10 times to my vehicle in the past 3 months. A recall was issued for my year/model for this issue but Ford says my car isnt covered because it was made 1 month after affected vehicles.

Driving down the highway in my 2012 Ford Fusion at 55 miles an hour on hwy 10 and the car suddenly jerked to the right and lost power steering had to ditch it because I was unable to steer it off the road safely. I was very upset because I had my grand daughter in the vehicle with me and it scared us both.
Loss of power steering. Lights flickered while driving 35 mph, then service advance trac and service power steering message came across dashboard. Drove home and turned off the vehicle and when I turned the vehicle back on same messages appeared and steering wheel is too hard to turn therefore unable to drive.
