CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2012 Honda Accord has a solid reputation (so far), with one very significant flaw: uncomfortable seats.

Owners have consistently reported uncomfortable seats with the entire 8th generation (2008-2012) of Honda Accords. Complaints range from back pain to leg circulation problems due to bad lumbar support, cushioning, & seat angle. Complaints aren't limited to only a certain body type -- the seat comfort problems are from a wide spectrum of owner height & weight.

The common theme we hear is "we never noticed this during the test drive." Unfortunately for unwary buyers, the seat pain is noticeable after 15-20 minutes.

My 2012 Honda Accord shakes/shudders at low speeds and low gears. Twice, the transmission lost power to push the car forward. This car only has 72,000 miles. I was almost in an accident because the car wouldn't go forward.

Accord EX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,000 miles

Car shutters a lot, jerks a little while accelerating. I have to make sure traffic is clear due to the shutter and lack of power when getting on highway.

Accord LX 2.4L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission

Should have bought a Toyota. The Accord has been progressively shuddering more and more. I haven't taken it to the dealer yet, but my assume this is either a bad transmission or a torque converter. If the transmission does die I'm just going to throw it in the trash and go buy a car from a company that still produces quality cars. The shuddering started around 85k miles. It happens consistently now when the car is going from 2nd to 3rd gear. The car hasn't locked up yet, but my guess is that it will blow up while I'm driving down the road one day. Do yourself a favor and don't buy one of these.
