CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2014 Honda Accord is showing signs of an electrical problem with the starter failing soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. It's compounded by reports that the OEM battery doesn't have sufficient amps to start the V6 reliably after a year or two.
For now we are rating this problem with the "Beware" seal because it's occurring so soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. The upshot is when your Accord won't start, that's never good, but especially bad when it's just a few years old.
Also once again, owners are complaining that the 2014 Honda Accord seats are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable seats has been a significant complaint with the Accord since the 2008 model year.

To whom it may concern; I had an appointment for today (02/13/2021) at Honda of milford in the state of Connecticut in usa for safety recall. I was denied for a service on safety recall after I have asked the receptionist at the service desk when I he will be able to help me while I was waiting in line more than few minutes. The receptionist was using obscene language when I was waiting in line in an unprofessional manner. Another employee of this dealership has also involved and asked me to leave the property because I asked him who he was. I believe I was treated unfairly and denied a service for safety recall after simply asking for an assistance while waiting in line. Please, regard my complaint into consideration. Thank you, respectfully yours
February 13, 2021 around 11:45 I was driving with my son and his friend & my dog with me, I about to make a left in intersection when I hit the gas pedal I hear a noise under my car (boom) then the car won't go foward even though I hit gas. Then I put in reverse it's the same thing it won't stop the car are still moving backward so I hit the brake and the car stop in the middle of intersection. So I put the gear in "P" park position but the car are still moving down the hill. Slowly by slowly backwards and then I hit the snow on the side road that's why the car stop. I'm so nervous on that moment even my son and his friend are scared.
Starter malfunctioned while parked on the street. This is a widely reported issue with hundreds of reports online and no recall. Cost to replace at dealer is over $700. Car died on the street.
The car will not start, but only sometimes. When you push the button, the power comes on and it clicks but doesn't start. Several lights come on including starter system. It usually will start after a few tries but last night would not at all and I was stranded in a parking lot. There are several complaints in the Honda forums and this was recalled and fixed for the 2013's but not the 2014"S.
Honda known service bulletin- affecting 2013-2016 Accord and 2013-15 cross tours, the starter grinds and spins at start up, car does not start. Honda's possible causes: The clearance between the starter motor gear and the torque converter ring gear is not optimal. Shouldn't this be a recall" other than my car not starting and the cost near $1,000 to repair, can this cause a fire"
On October 31, the axle on my care snapped in half. I was in a shopping center area, trying to make a turn and the car would not move forward or backward. I learned that the axle was broken when I had the car towed to a Honda dealership. I had the car repaired in the amount of $312.49. The mechanic told me that this was a freak incident and that it was a defect in the axle because it should not have broken in that manner. I want Honda to reimburse for the cost to repair. It might have been more of a serious situation if this had happened on the highway.
My 2014 Honda Accord coupe ex-L V6 has 58.000 miles. I recently had my starter replaced and torque converter adjusted. I was informed that this is a issue Honda is aware of and has created a bulletin (16-002). This appears to be a common issue, and why wouldn't there be a recall issued. It's clear this is a manufacturing and equipment issue in Accord V6 2013-2016 and crosstour V6 2013-15. Why is the repair at the consumers cost instead of Honda?
Purchased 2014 Honda Accord in 2017. About 18 months later, the clear coat started to erode away. I regularly wax and wash my car. Currently, the paint looks cloudy, chalky and is rough to the touch. Not at all what a 6 year old car that's taken care of should look like. I'm highly dissatisfied. I've reached out to the dealership and Honda directly to see what they can do as this is unacceptable to leave your customers with this situation and zero recourse.
2014 Honda Accord will not start. I press the brake but it's hard to press down. Push start will not go in to start the car. The car has a brand new battery and the computer system was reset. This is the second time I'm experiencing this with my car. The car does nothing no sound. Everything just lock up.
Honda Accord sport 2014, new battery and new starter. Some time start normal some time dead. After giving jump, start and no problem for few weeks and start again. Do not know what is the problem.
I've contacted my local Honda dealership as well as corporate Honda customer service with the issue of the paint peeling off at the rain channels at the rear windshield. They said there are no recalls on this issue so there is nothing they can do, I did some research and saw that I am not the first or the only person with this problem. Honda tells me it's due to the type of wash fluid I'm using as well as bird droppings and tree sap however, I wash the vehicle regularly like all other vehicles I've owned, all under the same washing and environmental conditions, and this is the only vehicle this has happened on. The paint is peeling is making its way up the channel and when it reaches the top it's going peel much faster around the vehicle. There is also a facebook group (Honda paint defect action group) as an example with almost 2,000 people with the same exact problem in the same exact location. That is not a coincidence.
I turned my car on one day and the light with the car and a squiggly line under started flashing then moments later the tire pressure light with the exclamation mark came on then weeks following the steering wheel light with the ! came on. I took my car to the tire place to check and they said nothing is wrong and after months of going back almost weekly at this point one of the techs says he heard other Honda Accord's were having the same problem and that it may be a false reading. Then after some weeks my ABS and brake light came on. At first it was only in the afternoon or later these light would come on but now it's whenever. Sometimes they go off after I start driving but then they eventually come back on. I looked on google and it appears this has happened to others stating there was some kind of faulty box thingy that is used to communicate between the lights going off and the car. I don't have the money to get someone to do all of this and if there are others having the same problem did Honda use a faulty part as others are saying? please help
Along the roof-line where the roof meets the back windshield the paint is peeling away and it getting progressive worse. There are numerous complaints online as with Honda and their dealership. Its a known issue and need addressing. My vehicle has 40+K mile and garage kept...extremely well maintained and no accidents and no issues at all. My vehicle is always in the garage...my commute distance is 2 miles from my home. See photos of condition of vehicle and paint peeling away/flaking off at the roof-line. I have been a Honda owner for over 3 decades with many different Honda products including their lawnmowers! please review and assist. I am putting the date below of Dec 2017 (only 3 years in) when the paint started peeling... its gotten worse with each passing day. Many thanks
My Accord's backup camera stopped working, for no apparent reason. The screen is showing multi-angle, but no picture. The car was in reverse, of course, when I noticed it. Talking to the Honda dealership, was of course surprised.
I may have clicked the wrong subject but my starter has been having problems and I googled I and saw that many people have complained about the starter
Today is February 24 2020 and my car started doing a weird noise on the engine what it sound like a misfire but all the lights started coming up on my dashboard while losing power on it was very scary cuz a lot of cars were passing by at a high speed on the freeway I was real scary cars almost hit me.. the car was service a week before they recommended to replace ignition coils and spark plugs which got done on it ever since then my car has had a weird rattling noise when starting it up after a few minutes it goes away hope these issues are corrected bye dinners under ships or manufacturers for safety purposes thank you.
