I have a 2017 Accord - in September 2019 the backup camera lcd screen started to flicker for a week or so each time I put the car into reverse. When I changed the camera angle it would sometimes come back and work while backing up, but then it went to a black screen altogether. It's been black ever since, the camera goes on while I reverse but nothing shows on the lcd screen but the guiding yellow lines. I went to fix the camera today myself and noticed the recall of the 2018 Accord. I think the same issue is happening with the 2017 Accord. I'd like to see Honda take responsibility rather than have to pay another $200-$350 to fix this. I am out of warranty. Here is what I found that brough me to this site. Vehicles recalled: 232,140 of the 2018 Honda Accord sedan and 2019 Honda insight hybrid sedan. The problem: The backup camera may fail because of bad software. The fix: Dealers will reprogram the display audio unit software, at no charge to owners. How to contact the manufacturer: The recall is expected to begin Nov. 5, 2018. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are K2G and V2F. NHTSA campaign number: 18V629
While driving condition, sometimes break problem was found and other 5 problems showing in the odometer that time I couldnot have control on the vehicle. When I push break padel, it doesnot work. I am facing this problrm couple of the time. First time Honda dealer reset the codes, 2nd time they suggest me to replace the battery, I did. Then after while I am facing same problem. What should I do, I dont understand but I am very disappointed with this vehicle. I could be in danger sometimes while on highway. Need the right solution but I still dont get the result.
The electric power steering went out due to a faulty electrical plug. It went out while my wife was driving on highway. This is an ongoing issue that is known to Honda. Yet there has not been a recall. I have not been able to drive the car for 4 weeks.
My airbags didn't deploy at the time of frontal accident at approximately 30-40 mph. Accident happened on county street (glen mill rd montgomery county Maryland) January 25th at 6:30 am. With the road being very dark, I didn't see a full size tree across the roadway from a severe storm the night before. I anticipated the airbag deploying on impact, however it seem like a minute or two before they deployed but never inflated ( niether the front or passanger side curtin) photos are on my phone and will send when I can download on this site.

Two days ago the sunroof opened on its own while car was parked and off. It opened overnight during a rainstorm. I closed the sunroof. I was puzzled but the car seemed fine and drove fine. Today the car is completely dead. It jump-started but there numerous symbols lit on the dashboard so my mechanic advised me to have it towed, it is not safe to drive.
Electrical system failure. Had to replace the battery and that didn't work. The safety features on the car are no longer operating (ABS, lkas, acc). These features all stopped working while driving on the highway. This was terrifying and could be an issue if someone is used to having these features available and all of a sudden they don't work. If a driver is dependent on these safety features after driving for several years with having them on, a driver could potentially cause harm to themselves or others if these features are suddenly not functioning correctly. When I went to the dealer they said it wasn't covered under the car warranty. Car is only 2 years old and has under 60K miles.
This morning on my way to work I stopped for gas, turned off my car, went to restart when my dash started going crazy and flicking on and off. It wouldn't start again so my husband had to leave work and come jump me, we drove it home, it sat for 3 mins then tried to start it again when the same thing happened. We decided to let the car stay plugged into a trickle battery charger all day while I went to work. After we got home, we decided to test it, and it started right up. We were able to turn it on and off several times without hesitation all until we let 5 mins pass in between starts when the flickering of the dark began again and the car refused to start. My car has less than 50K miles on it, this issue needs to be addressed when so many users are having the same problem. When we got home we checked the battery and it was reading 12voltz. We have found multiple complaints about the same issue from several other owners and would like to know what is being done to resolve the issue. Last night I had just gotten home from worked and gone in the house to change for church. Less than 5 minutes later, I returned to my car and when trying to start it, it would start up. Lights flickered on dash, but it wouldn't turn over. Had roadside assistance come to jump start car. Less than 24 hours later, the same thing happened. Car won't start after driving this morning and this afternoon already. This is the third time this his happened this year, with in a few months. Car has less that 50K miles. This needs to be looked into because if I'm in the middle of nowhere, this could be very dangerous.
Rear view camera goes blank or completely dark intermittently when shifting from park (P) to reverse gear (R). Have to stop the car, switch off the ignition, restart the car to make the back up camera work again.
Replaced the factory battery in 8/19 and then again 9/24/19. There was nothing left on in the car that would have caused the battery to die and alternator is charging correctly per technician. Is there a known issued with the electrical system?
Since I bought my 2017 Accord many times after driving the car and turning off the engine I tried to start it didn't I had to have it a boost then it runs fine with some dash lights on then they disappear once I drive after many times I took it to the dealer they said your battery is good and no electrical problem and then I read online I saw tons of people talking about the same issue and they had to replace Honda battery to a bigger battery with higher cca because this battery is weak and it cause a stall consequently a crash or the car will not start if you are in the middle of nowhere it's clear this is a Honda problem that I'll have to buy a bigger battery with higher cca and capacity to avoid as they said(not Honda) this problem to happen again thank you very much this car is 28 days old
For the second time in less than two months, the emissions/electrical/check engine on the 2017 Honda Accord is an issue. I have researched the internet and I am finding that this is a common error on the 2016 Honda's and newer. The emission error system has come on again. The last time I had this problem the converter had to be replaced. The system error comes on when driving when raining, which makes me believe that there is also a electrical problem as well. I find this concerning on a new, 100 percent dealer maintained vehicle. There is obviously an electrical/emission problem in the system and it requires an independent party to review. The tech states no issue can arise from having the check engine/emission light on but the car does tend to lose power during these issues. Honda owners should not be held liable for manufacture errors.
Recently took my car in for car doc maintenance for and an oil change. Paperwork states the battery is good. Upon leaving the dealership after mechanic brought my vehicle out to me I jumped tried to start the vehicle and it wouldn't start so I informed the Honda mechanic and they gave me a jump with the jumper box. It's been 1 month since then and my car won't start at the oddest times even after I've been driving for a while. Car won't start or turn over and the lights just flicker on and off. I'm currently waiting on a tow truck to get a jump my car is parked in the garage and it won't start. Very frustrated with Honda I had the car less than 2 years and I have less than 50K miles
Car suddenly wont start. Break petal is stuck, dash lights click and wont start. Acts like its the battery but doesn't allow jump. Car has less that 46,000 miles and is 2 yrs old. Current recall out for fuel issues, but the dealer is sure thats not the cause. Contact at the dealer was not helpful at all and kinda rude. Rushed me off the phone when I was asking questions. Very upset
Rear view camera glitches then went black. Very short intermittent on, but then glitches and screen goes black again. Now the screen stays black when shifting into reverse or try different angles. Clean lens and no obstructions.
In the first several weeks of ownership, I notice a slight vibration inside the car--floorboard, steering wheel, dash board--when the blower motor was turned on with the engine running. It was faint at first, but the vibration has gotten progressively worse. The vibration seems more exaggerated when the blower and A/C are on together, but the vibration is still present with only the blower motor on with the engine running. I don't recall any sound with the vibration. The first time I noticed the vibration was waiting at a stop light. I turned the blower motor on for heat or outside air when I noticed a faint vibration as I sat idling, at a stop light. Now, when the blower motor is used with ventilation, A/C, heat, etc., the interior of the car emits a distinct vibration until the blower motor is turned off. With the engine off, I have turned the blower motor on and there is no noticeable vibration, so the blower motor vibration appears to be linked to the running engine.
