honda has had many issues with the a.c. compressor on the CRV. What they tell customers is its an a.c. clutch issue. What they don't tell you is the clutch is built into the a.c. compressor they also don't tell you that 95% of the issue is that design. So my 06 crv @ 130I miles needs to have the entire a.c. system replaced because the clutch in the compressor over heated and sent debris thoughout the rest of the a.c. system. If I just do the compressor all the debris will end up back in the new compressor. Estimates could be as low as $500 to as high as $3000 to fix. So after talking to honda customer service they say the system was recalled before and after my model year as well as some vins in my model year but not mine. Honda even extended some crvs warranty because of this problem. But again not mine. So honda says it's 10 years old and over 100k miles that they don't care, exact words "sorry your warranty is up and good luck." so I tell honda that this crv is going to be the last new or used honda I will own. Fyi I'm a car buyer for a lot of private people and have probably sold over 1000 new hondas. Now with my name on the deal I will not push honda anymore.
