Takata recall my vehicle is included in the recall. Called the dealer (pensacola Honda)-poor results. Am told the parts 'may' arrive late may'16, and installation begins in Jun'16. They told by summer!! information suggests that older cars ('07) in hot/humid locations (milton, fl) are the most at risk. I was previously unaware of how long this issue has persisted!!! called the american Honda number, again-poor results. I have lost confidence in the brand, and safety of the vehicle. I wish to -sell it- and be done with the problem, but no person, nor a dealership is interested in a car with a safety recall and a repair timeline that stretches for months. In the meanwhile I have a registration renewal due, and am paying insurance on a car I am afraid for my wife to drive. The value of this car has been significantly reduced, and I am unable to sell. Honda wants to make available a loaner car, but that does not help to offset diminished value, loss of resale, storage and ongoing depreciation issues.

There was a recall on the airbags for my Honda CR-V which included a warning that the driver as well as passengers could be killed by this defect, however the parts to fix the problem will not be available until the end of summer - up to 5 months from now. It's been two weeks since I first contacted american Honda and my local Honda dealership and I still haven't been provided with a rental vehicle similar to the vehicle I own.

Takata recall-I was notified that my car is part of recall. I called the Honda dealer and they explained how I was to rent a car for replacement because parts will not be ready until late summer 2016. This is all good, except I use the car to tow behind my motorhome all spring and summer. I called Honda national hotline and they gave me no answer to how I would find a car to tow behind my motorhome all summer. Is this the spirit of the recall? I cannot drive the car safely so it is basically useless to tow it.

I have contacted Honda, based on the risk to my family and need to use the car. Waited for 90 mins on call, without response. Called dealer indicated on their website. Service specialist was not prepared to evaluate case, saying that alternating transportation until car is fixed would not be feasible. I need a car to go to work and travel with the family, who is in risk of deadly injury. Please advice and/or work with Honda so that the situation can be managed as specified in the recall letter I have received. Thanks in advance, fabio thiers

  • 58,503 miles
In Sept 2009 at approximately 58,500 miles, SRS light came on and stayed on while driving. Light turned off after powering car on and off again. Per owners manual, took car to family Honda dealer in rancho santa margarita, California to investigate (presumably under hondacare no deductible extended warranty). Service tech found trouble code 81-43, and reinitialized/ recalibrated the passenger seat weight sensor (opds) and charged me $95 due to the diagnosis not being covered by hondacare without a diagnosed hardware failure. September 2011, approximately 95,000 miles: SRS light came on again, and remained on after subsequent power on, power off cycles. Approximately one day later (and several power cycles later), the light turned off. Two weeks later, the light came on again, but went out the following power on/off cycle. Light has not come on again. There is no cover on the passenger seat and I do not use it for storage when driving.

CR-V

  • 14,000 miles
The contact owns a 2007 Honda CR-V. while driving approximately 40 mph, the antilock brake system engaged when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact rear ended another vehicle. As a result, the bumper completely detached from the front end of the vehicle and the radiator was damaged. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained major injuries because the seat belt locked and would not unlatch. The passenger in the other vehicle was uninjured. A police report was filed and the vehicle was towed to the dealer. Prior to the failure, the contact heard a grinding sound while driving in reverse, but there was no failure at that time. The current and failure mileages were 14,000.
