Honda has tried to fix this delayed acceleration with a software update, but many owners report it didn't fix the problem.

This defect trend is not quite bad enough yet for us to slap on the "Beware of the Clunker" seal. But it's a concern & definitely something to keep in mind for a test drive.

This has happened over 8 times in the first 5 months.

Dealer said this is normal due to temp changes. It is a problem that they don't have a fix for.

Could be caused by change in outside temp.

Happened two times. I was told it was due to change in temperature. All tires were checked, and tire pressure was ok. It will be checked next week during a scheduled maintenance

Update from Aug 5, 2014: There is an update available for the TPM for the 2014 CRV. Update was done during routine maintenance - hopefully there will be no more problems.

I had read about this TPMS light coming on with the 2014 Honda CRV before I ever purchased this vechile and naturally the sales guy had NO IDEA what I was talking about when I bought it either. Sure enough after 910 miles my light came on, but after reading the other complaints, I just pushed and held in the TPMS button on the dash, the light blinked a couple of times and turned off. I am keeping a log on my calendar because I am sure it will continue to come on like everyone else has stated too and I will be updating on here as well.

Update from May 27, 2014: I should have updated this sooner, but just kept forgetting about it. My vechile actually did not have this problem after all. After writing this complaint I drove home in my old car and upon opening my garage door found my rear drivers side tire completely flat. I had ran over a nail, so the TPMS was actually working as it should!

At 700 miles, TPMS light illuminated. Checked tire pressure (all tires had been overinflated by dealer at delivery), adjusted down to specs and reset TPMS button, per owners manual.

Since then, the TPMS light has illuminated approximately every 700 miles. Currently, car has 3400 miles and the light has illuminated again (the fourth time). On every occasion, all the tire pressures were within 1 lb. psi of normal.

The third and fourth occasion I was driving in wet conditions, driving through some small puddles. I'm suspecting that water spashing up in the wheel area may be a contributing factor.

I'm contacting the service department at my dealership today and will post any helpful information if I get a real fix.

Thanks to all for posting their complaints, it's nice to know that others have this problem too.

TPS came on three separate occasion. First and second time were over inflated, I didn't touch it due to I was driving over 60 miles per trip. I did soft reset. It went away for couple of weeks. Today it came on again. Took it to Dealer service and was over inflated again. Dealer made adjustment according to spec 32psi. I hope it will work. I will monitor and update if any more problem comes up.

A family member also experience the same issue once on his 2014CRV and he also did a soft reset. Everything is fine now.

I bought this car on 1/6/14. Light came on 1/9/14 and has stayed on since then. The dealer is of no help. They keep telling me to try the same things over and over like I am a moron. They are 60 miled from my home and only open M-S. Unless I take the day off and drive up there and give them a hard time, they are not going to help. This will be my first and last Honda!

The day I bought the 2014 Honda CRV EX L I did not even make it home, before the tire light came on. I went back the next day to the dealership I purchased it from Honda Pensacola. They reset and said it happens when they are delievered. I have now been back 5 times. Everytime the light comes back on within five day's, but most of the time on the way home. I have filed lemon law paperwork. The dealership stated Honda will not let them trouble shoot, all they can do is reset the button. I am done, I haven't even had the car a month. I told the dealership I will not be back until I hear back from the state on the lemon law paperwork.

This is the worst customer service I have ever seen.

I purchased my 2014 in early October and the TPMS light came on about 10 days later. I called the Customer Service Rep at my dealer and he told me there was a software glitch and to just bring it into the express service so they could reset the light and when a fix became available I'd be notified. Well two weeks after that, the light came on again and I've been getting the run around from Honda ever since.

I spoke with two more service people who didn't even know what I was talking about and the people who reset the light the first time never reported the issue to American Honda which is really devious because how will American Honda know if there's a problem if the dealers don't report them?

I spoke with American Honda and the they said there were no bulletins or recalls but that they'd refer the case up to a technical case manager. That person said Honda is aware of the problem and has no idea when a fix will be released. I told her I had an appointment to bring the car in (yet again) to have the tires checked properly this time and she said that unless I brought it in when the American Honda technical department was open then it would do me no good. WTH? How does that even make any sense? So basically she's saying the deal service techs have no clue as to what they're doing and need the American Honda technical department to walk them through everything which is total b.s.

Half of the service department doesn't even know there's a software glitch so I'm wondering if that's just something they're telling us 2014 CR-V owners to shut us up temporarily. It seems strange that a software fix still hasn't been found and they can't tell us when one is likely to be found. How long do we wait? Three years until the warranty runs out?

I've had Hondas most of my life and have never experienced such poor customer service or incompetence. I'm livid.

The other thing is how do you all feel about the nitrogen tires? That's new (I didn't have that with my 2008 CRV) and I'm wondering if they might be causing issues. Where does one go when they are traveling and need to fill up their tire with nitrogen? They're supposed to be better but so far I'm not impressed.

Purchased a brand new car on a Friday- TPS system light came on over the weekend. Tires checked by dealer (OK), light reset and I'm off. Within a few days (maybe 400 mi on car) light back on. Back to dealer, reset. Light on within 20 miles. Back to dealer reset or recalibrate. Repeat x 3.

Complaint registered with Honda Corp by me (dealer had also been talking to them). Was told by dealer (who was told by Honda tech) it was a problem with the TPM program yet Honda was apparently unaware of this when I called to register a complaint. Took car back in (rec'd rental) they updated program, tires overinflated and reset, light reset. Test drove by dealer 120 miles, no problem. I pick it up, drive home, light comes on before I get home. Called dealer and told them of problem. They said they'd contact Honda and get back to me following week. Car back at dealer, I have another loaner car.

Latest story is calls are "coming in from all over the country" about same problem. They are replacing the tires and hope that fixes the problem. Additional rants to follow if this doesn't fix the problem.

**side note- A friend also purchased a 2014 CRV a few weeks after me. Same problem....

Update from Apr 3, 2014: I also posted my complaint of the CRV owners website and have followed the goings on...A couple of weeks ago II called the dealer asking about the software upgrade that was now available to fix the problem and was told they didn't know about it but would make calls. They called and were told that it only works on about 10% of the cars and it wasn't available as of yet but they'd be talking to a Honda rep the following week and would get back to me. I called again early this week and was told the rep never mentioned the fix. I requested that they apply the update to my car, I was willing to take my chances with the fix. I was told they didn't know how to do it. I offered to call the dealership in FL and have them call to tell them how to do it. The dealer rep replied that they couldn't do it because they wouldn't be paid for it unless Honda authorized it. I asked who I needed to call at Honda to get it authorized. He suggested I call customer service. I did. Long story short they downloaded the software fix and applied it (whatever "it" is) to my car yesterday. We'll see if it works. Point is you have to be "pushy" (if not downright obnoxious) to get them to do it. When they tell you there isn't anything concrete yet tell them to check out TSB 14-006 (technical service bulletin) and call Honda customer service to get a case number should this continue to be a problem. I don't know if the 10% thing is true or not but I figured it's worth a try. I want to either trade this car in as soon as possible (for a Toyota) or, if it doesn't work pursue the lemon law.
