This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I stopped my car at the base of my driveway and put the gear shift lever on park to check my mailbox. I left the car running while I did that. As I glanced at my mail, the car slowly rolled up my driveway (no one was in the car, and the gear shift lever remained in park) and crashed into a large tree about 40 feet beyond my driveway. When the tow truck driver pulled my car back onto the driveway, he said that the shift lever was still in park. I suspect that my car was a "victim" of NHTSA campaign id number 94V165000.
Transmission interlock system does not work. Vehicle is difficult to be taken out of park gear. When it's taken out of gear, it does not read correctly. Dealer has been contacted.
