On 8/31/2018, I took my 2014 Nissan Altima into the fred hass Nissan svc, dept. For an oil change, in tomball tx and while there, reported that the supplemental air bag warning light was remaining on after 7 seconds and remained on all the while the vehicle was being driven. The service advisor stated that code found was cleared and no repair was recommended. On 9/5/2018, I spoke with (xxxx), svc, mgr. At fred Nissan and informed him that the supplemental air bag warning light was on again. Mr. (xxxx) made a 7am appointment for me to bring my vehicle to the svc. Dept., on 9/6/2018 for further diagnosis and he would contact Nissan for recommendations. Later on, mr. (xxxx) informed me that he had spoken with someone at Nissan and was told that Nissan would not cover the cost of any current or future repairs to the supplemental air system, even though it was a safety issue. Unfortunately, the gold extended warranty I purchased does not cover malfunctions of supplemental air bag system or any of its components. The supplemental air bag warning light continues to come on upon a cold and warm start and remains on while the vehicle is being driven.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact's vehicle was rear ended while idling at a traffic light. There was extensive damage to the rear of the vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. The contact received neck and back injuries and her spouse suffered back injuries. Medical attention was received. A police report was filed. The vehicle was repaired by a local mechanic. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000. Vehicle purchase date should be on or before incident date
Takata recall airbag threw metal scraps injuring left wrist permanent scar state farm totaled vehicle in 2014. Furthermore tramatic brain injury. Still seeing nurologist have problems with short term memory and balance problems. Please take airbag off market. Please recall drivers side airbag as soon as possible before someone dies or has head injury. Thank you left permanent scar when I put hand up in air, should have hit my face and killed me. The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 16V244000 (air bags) and 16V029000 (latches/locks/linkages). The dealer (Nissan autohaus bcherl weiden, located at bucherl jo.-tec.gmbh neustadter str 50 weiden, 92637+ 49 961631-90330, www.autohaus-buecherl.de/weiden.html) stated that the part was unavailable and was waiting to receive the part from the manufacturer to provide the recall repair. The Nissan usa manufacturer stated that they would notify the contact before June 1, 2018 to determine if the part would be available prior to the vehicle being shipped internationally. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Airbag exploded with metal scraps, when I put my hand up over my face, airbag spued out metal scraps that gave me permanent scar inch in diameter on left wrist. And tramatic brain injury from airbag hit. Airbag needs to be recalled! see also ODI 11083508.

Takata recall..... it states when you put the VIN number in that my car was not in the recall. My husband and I are in our late 70's and early 80's and love the car, but are now afriad to drive the car because of the airbags. Can you please have these airbags replaced for our safety. I know these takata airbags have already been recalled, why was my car not included? Nissan dealer states that there is no, takata airbags. For my safety and that of my husband. I would like to have my airbags replaced and free for charge, because of the hassle that I'm going through.
With passenger sitting in passenger seat with seat belt on, the light is on the dash at various times, when in park as well as when driving, the air bag is off. We have taken it to the dealership numerous times to report this issue, but it continues to occur.
Takata recall while stopped on a busy street waiting to make a left hand turn, I was rear-ended by a large SUV. My airbag did not deploy and I suffered severe pain to my head, neck, shoulders and back. My Altima was later declared a total loss as a result of the accident.
