Diagnosed CVT failure; Nissan refuses to replace the transmission at their cost. Took the vehicle to multiple mechanics before the issue was officially diagnosed, as the issue is difficult to diagnose. When operating the vehicle, at times the vehicle will stop accelerating; driver is pressing on the accelerator and the RPMs will increase but the vehicle will not be propelled forward and the power steering is disengaged. The issue is intermittent so the driver does not when this will occur, other drivers on the road also do not know our car is stalled, and this creates a huge safety risk. Also, when stopped at a stop sign or stoplight and attempting to turn onto another street, driver will attempt to accelerate and turn and the vehicle will not move or will barely move and the power steering is disengaged. If the cross-street has traffic, my vehicle is immovable in oncoming traffic -- a huge safety issue.

Mossy Nissan El Cajon, didn't report an accident that the car was involved in prior to the sale of the car to me. This car sustained front end damage. Resulting in a repair to the frame/sway bar. Thus effecting the steering and suspension of the car. This car was repaired and paid for by an insurance company. However, Nissan didn't disclose this information, so that the end result was the sale of the car.

I have had the vehicle brakes inspected at multiple places. The brakes and rotors are new however there are grinding issues and hard to stop while station or in motion on highways, streets, or turning. There is a suspension weird noise when turning the wheel bearing which Nissan stated it there common sounds. I have had the brakes and rotors changed yearly but is still having issues stopping.

Very stiff steering at low speed (15-20 miles/H) when effecting a right or left hand turn such as lane change, almost freezing for 1 to 2 seconds. Almost got in a collision, when trying to switch lanes, because of lack of responsiveness of steering wheel. Happens intermittently, with no warning. Dealer could not find the reason for this.

2016 Nissan Altima has delayed acceleration. Also, can hear a sizzle noise when driving making a turn, as if wire is shorting but no smell of burning wires; at this time. This is while driving, idling, street driving, and on highway; we are very concerned.

Purchased vehicle less than a month ago and I hate it! I've had nothing but scary encounters with this vehicle. The steering wheel was not aligned and the car would drift to other lanes. God forbid the rain or snow makes a visit, the car slides uncontrollably. The steering wheel seems stiff as well. I had a wheel alignment done and the notice it's a little better but the issue is still there leading me to believe there are other issues. Clunking noise from rear while driving. Took car to the dealership 3 times until they finally decided to look further. They replaced left rear shock; however, the noise is still there. It seems as the tires and steering wheel are off. Also, when turning right I can hear a clunking noise. I put car in 'park' turned steering wheel left and there was no noise. Turned to right and the noise present.

Accelerating onto the highway on yesterday my check engine light cane on as well and my traction control light which caused my car to lose power. I was able to get right back off the freeway and turn into a neighborhood. When I turned the car off and back on it started with the same lights on. I had my transmission rebuilt at 73,000 miles with a 12,000 mile warranty already but I don't think that my transmission is the issue this time. I had to get my car towed to the Nissan of grapevine dealership again because I refuse to drive the car with my 3 month old and sixteen year old in the car

Nov 2017, Altima had 18,173 miles, not one year old and the check engine light came on while drive it. Took it to dealer in san diego, diagnosis was a P0101 code (mass air flow sensor/orange PCV valve). Then at 20,598 miles, I saw my life flash before my eyes. I was driving on interstate 5 in southern California doing 72 mph with a truck behind me and all of a sudden the Altima will not accelerate! meanwhile the RPM's are jumping up and down. Again the dealer said it was code P0101, replaced the PCV valve again. Next at 20,833 miles the check engine light came back on. Dealer informed me there was carbon build up in the throttle body and found code P0101 as well. At that point the dealer replaced the throttle body with a new one. At 24,095, the dealer stated both shocks were leaking. Both shocks were removed and replaced. At 25,076 miles the back driver door would not open from the inside. The dealer replaced the acuator. At the same encounter, the back driver window did not roll down more than half way. Found vapor barrier and cable damaged. Also, during this time poor acceleration was noticed and they replaced the brake light switch and deleted stop lamp relay. Finally on this visit new heat shields as well. This car has spent 25 days of its life at a Nissan dealer. This car is scary and defective.

Purchased my Nissan on February 23, 2017... unfortunately I never test drove it and the next day took delivery... two minutes on the road I heard an awful noise... turned out it needed a new wheel bearing... since then they also replaced ball joints on the drivers side.... now when I turn the wheel I hear and feel a clunking noise with what seems like a lot of play... clunking is very apparent when backing up and steering into a parking spot... dealership has actually gone out of there way to assure me that it's normal for Nissan's.. I honestly believe I purchased a car with left front wheel damage and never listed on a car fax... I enjoy driving the car and hope you can help getting this resolved/steering rack replaced.. if you do follow up with this complaint, I'm sure there are records of what they have replaced on the left front wheel.... this has been an ongoing issue, so there's no specific date I noticed this... if you can secure those records you will see my comments when going to the dealership. This dealership has given me great service and hope you can help

While the car has been parked there was a power steering leak unbeknownst to us while the car was parked in the driveway. I checked the reservoir after we returned from a road trip because we saw an excess of fluid on the ground, where the car was previously parked.

The steering wheel comes close to a frozen state, half way when turning left or right which is a serious safety matter. It happened at least 10 times in a month or two(Sept/Oct-2017). I took the car to the myatt Nissan in salisbury, nc. It took them 3 weeks to repair it during which I heard contradicting statements from them. After a week in their shop I was told by one person(West) that they were able to recreate the problem(when one of the technicians drove it). The service manager(roger) denied it never happened, but they changed the electrical steering pump for free anyway though it was 14,000 miles above the warranty. They even documented that they were not able to recreate the problem, but changed the pump any way. The reason I want to report it is of the contradicting statements and their effort to document it as non-issue, but changed the pump anyway. Clearly they are hiding something. Still not sure if the repair resolves the issue as I haven't driven it enough to validate for sure.
