My son get saying he couldn't get out of the car and I thought he was jerking around, but sure enough, I went to open the rear driver's side door of my new Altima and it wouldn't open. I thought maybe I needed to unlock it again as if the button maybe didn't send the unlock signal but nope, the door opened about an inch and would come free of the latch. This could be a significant issue, or god forbid of an accident, but it goes to show the cheap parts used to keep the Altima's price reasonable.

I brought the car to the dealer who right away said something didn't feel right when he pulled the handle and sure enough, the internal components some of which are plastic need to be replaced! I'm waiting 3 days so far and they still don't have the parts. Most parts take a day and bam you can get your car fixed. I guess because the car is so new, parts are harder to get. I also had the issue of the rearview camera blanking out which the supposedly fixed with an update, and when I first had this car, it died on me multiple times and was at the dealer twice before determining it had a bad battery. I so regret purchasing this car and can't wait until my lease is up!
