Ok so trans kicks hard 25mph into 2nd, not kicking at all in other gears already replaced transmission oil and filter with no change. Took to trans shop he pulls code of 55 which I understand as normal or no problems to report. I also want to note that my truck feels like it has a 4cyl in it rather then a 6cyl in other words low power unless I floor it. The mecanic didnt come out and say that he thinks it needs a rebuild but the quote was for $600.00 saying that he will replace the valve body and test before dropping the tranny. He says this may be a cheaper fix since I bought this used with 155k the mecanic said he would run it into the ground but this is my daughters car and I want it to drive safe just dont want to throw money away. My friend says he would try a used tranny out of the junkyard before sending money on a valve body. I need to know what the signs of a bad valve body?
