The contact owns a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder. While the dealer was servicing the vehicle on January 8, 2005, the air bag light illuminated. The dealer stated that the vehicle was safe to drive. While at the dealer on February 22, 2008 for a recall repair, the contact asked to have the vehicle checked. The dealer stated that the vehicle was unsafe to drive due to a prior air bag light malfunction. The repair would cost $958.94. The failure mileage was 86,231 and current mileage was 140,642.
I know this happened a while ago, but I never knew of this web site. Or thought of filing a complaint. Driving at night, hit ice on the road - Pathfinder was totaled (I have pictures), lots of damage including personal injury to the person driving. Given extensive front end (and overall) damage - neither air bag deployed.
Coming from a stop driver was about to make left hand turn when a heavy truck going approximately 60 mph hit front portion of vehicle, causing about $10,000 worth of damage. Also, upon impact, dual airbags did not deploy, causing minor injuries.
