Pathfinder 6-cyl

I purchased a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder in 2004. The bose 6-disc changer immediately failed. The dealership repaired it because it fell within the 30-day warranty period. It worked for about two months after that and then I got an error message one day when I tried to load a cd and it hasn't worked since. Last spring, I took the car in for a tire rotation and balance and my mechanic noted that there was a slight fish-tailing in the back which was caused by deterioration of the rear bushings, and over time, the fish-tailing would get so bad, it could possibly cause an accident when braking. Apparently this is a common occurrence in certain Pathfinder models, and Nissan even corrected the problem in future models of the Pathfinder once the problem was discovered. I have read multiple posts to this website as well as others regarding both of these issues in the 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. How can Nissan not be responsible for the repair/replacement of this faulty equipment" the rear bushing problem is a major safety hazard, and I pray for Nissan's sake no one is ever killed in an accident because of this issue, because a good attorney will have a field day in court with the class action lawsuit. Is NHTSA ever going to do anything about this" based on an article I read located at this website: www.wallpaperama.com/forums/Nissan-Pathfinder-wobbles-problem-rocks-side-to-side-T6838.html, Nissan has been aware of this problem since at least 1998 and has even issued a service repair description for Nissan dealerships. This is a major expensive repair. Someone really needs to help consumers with this problem...updated 12/02/14

My bose cd changer in my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder hasn't been working in a couple of years. It comes up with an err2 message. I know it's a common problem in this model and Nissan has not responded to any complaints I've had about this.

I purchased a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. The 6 disc bose cd player worked perfect for a few years. In 2006 it read err2. I attempted to retrieve the cd's but they would not come out. As a result the player continuously clicked and then eventually stopped. Now it does not do anything. I have found this problem to be very common in 2001 Pathfinder and infintiy QX4. There is not a cd player made that is compatible with bose that will sound good. To purchase a new one is ridiculous because of the high price through the dealership. I have spoken to many people in forums that have attempted to repair the broken unit only to have it last a few months. I refuse to throw away money and want to have my unit replaced by the dealership at no charge. There is obviously a trend here with the number of complaints and I would like this matter to be handled correctly.

I purchased a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder from a family member. The bose 6 cd changer comes up with an error message err2. I'm being told that this is a common problem with the vehicle: That Nissan knows about but won't acknowledge. I'm trying to make you aware of this. Is there any recourse with Nissan?

6 disc cd changer shows err2 on screen and will not eject any disc. Problem occurred around 70K miles and dealer would not fix it under even an extended warranty. Quoted $1500 for new one or $500 for repair.

Factory cd changer for 2001 Pathfinder le becomes jammed, will not play cds or eject them, shows an error code of err2. After doing research on the internet, I found out that the unit is manufactured by clarion and that many owners of the same vehicle have had the same problem. If Nissan know about that problem why don't recall it?

I just purchased a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. The 6 disc cd player does not work, it says "err2". I was under the impression that everything was in working condition at the time of purchase. When I asked the dealer to fix it at their cost they would not do it. I think this is bad business since I mentioned the fact that I liked that the vehicle has a 6 disc cd when I test drove it. I am finding out that many many people have the same problem with the cd not working. Why doesnt Nissan recall it and care about customer satisfaction?

2001 Nissan Pathfinder SE had problems with air bags and seat equipment during a major accident. Prior to the accident, the consumer purchased an after market westin safari light bar, the installation of the bar caused the air bags not to deploy. It appeared the westin bar prevented the sensors behind the front bumper from being depressed in order to activate the air bags.

My 2001 Pathfinder has had some major troubles with starting. I have had to wait for a period of more than a half of an hour to get it started and I also had to call a tow truck, (I was out of town), and wait for three hours before I received a jump start, the tow truck driver said that the battery was full. I decided to do some research and found that the 2001 Pathfinder has been recalled in asia for this same problem. Why is nothing being done about this in the states? S I have had the same incident occur three times I am unsure about exact dates of their occurrences.

My daughter's service engine check light keeps coming on. She has pulled over at the side of the road over and over due to this since we have told her it may be unsafe to continue driving. After doing extensive research, I find that thousands of 2001 Nissan Pathfinders have this problem. Mileage is very low when this occurs. I am taking it in again to have another "sensor" replaced but this does not seem to solve the problems and the car shakes badly.F hundred/thousands are having this problem with the 2001, why has there not been a recall? E spent 800 on tires because I was told it shook due to this, then they decided it was another sensor.
