Excessive oil consumption and white smoke coming out of the tail pipe it is. No one can tell me what is wrong. I just took the car to Nissan Dealer. I don't think Nissan is great car.

Pathfinder LX 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

I purchased a 2013 Nissan pathfinder, I have only had it 3 years, white smoke started coming out of the exhaust pipe when I started it. So I took it to an auto service repair shop, and they can not seem to find why my car is burning so much oil so fast nor where the oil is going or leaking into. This is a leased vehicle and all required maintenance has been performed. This sounds exactly like the problem gemeztx, Houston, TX, USA is having. The the tail pipe smoke is becoming horrendous as is oil consumption. It doesn't help that Nissan has put the oil level dipstick in a really awkward location and that it is impossible to get an accurate reading until the dipstick has been wiped and removed several times; oil seems to hang in the tube way above the actual oil level.

Pathfinder Platinum V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 72,800 miles

I purchased a 2013 Nissan pathfinder platinum, I have only had it 3 years, white smoke started coming out of the exhaust pipe when I started it, I had just taken it to dealer for an oil change, they told me I needed some recommended services done as well. So they cleaned the throttle body, changed the mass air flow sensor and changed the oil. I notice white smoke coming out of exhaust every time I started my vehicle and with time it turned into a big white cloud of smoke and my service engine light came on. I took it back to the dealer and they stated it may be residue from cleaning the throttle body. So they said it would probably go away with time by driving it, which it never did. So I called them to let them know it was getting worse and now the low oil pressure level light was coming on and I wanted to take it in so they can check if the oil was indeed changed, so I took it in and they said yes it had been changed, and didn't give me an answer about the smoke, they couldn't find anything else wrong with it since the engine light had went out. It came back on later and after spending $700+ dollars at dealer. So I took it to an auto service repair shop, and they can not seem to find why my car is burning so much oil so fast nor where the oil is going or leaking into. I am very confused and stressed out with the whole situation. A car this new should not be burning oil. I have been doing a lot of research and looking at different websites and have only found 1 other person with this problem. I have not seen a recall for the engine either which I doubt Nissan will ever do.
