The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that at start-up the check engine warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to pinnacle Nissan (7601 E frank lloyd wright blvd, scottsdale, AZ 85260) where the mechanic informed him that he could smell fuel coming from the vehicle and that the issue was due to a loose gas cap. Upon return of the vehicle, the contact continued to smell a fuel odor coming from the vehicle and decided to buy a new gas cap. The contact then stated that while his wife was driving on the highway at an unknown speed, his wife and the other occupants in the vehicle all received headaches due to the strong fuel odor coming from the vehicle. A few days later the contact took the vehicle to flagstaff Nissan (4960 E marketplace dr, flagstaff, AZ 86004) where he was informed that fuel was leaking from the fuel tank. The contact was informed that the fuel tank, the fuel O ring, and other parts in and around the gas tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number. The contact was informed that he would receive a call back and had yet to hear from the manufacturer.
