General Motors, Let me start by saying I used to be a Chevy Lover! I own a 1968 Impala SS 427, 2008 Silverado, !994 Silverado, and lastly ....2006 Impala LT, which has been a total disappointment from day one! Did I mention I'm a licensed mechanic and member of The Vintage Chevy Club of America! With that said.... The 2006 Impala has made me loose total faith in General Motors! I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER GM CAR, PERIOD!! THESE ARE JUST A FEW OF MY PROBLEMS; - Multiple shorts mostly near the passenger side floor fuse panel, causing false readings to info on dash! No rear defogger, burnt wires, speakers work when they want, low oil pressure light on for 10,000 miles! Thank God speaker on left front isn't working or chimes would drive me crazy! Endless shorts most likely do to blockage in sunroof drains....cleaned multiple times! - Transmission shot at 90,000! with services done on more than once! -Oil sending units leak! Replaced the pairs on four occasions, still false readings! -Wire in trans-shifter broke, disabling transmissions function! -Sunroof works when it feels like... so rather than take a chance of it getting stuck in the open position, we don't use it! -Auto start hasn't worked in 60,000 miles, nor has the key fobs with new batteries! - Fresh air intake valve gets jammed and makes loud clapping sound when using AC or heat, changing fan speeds or selecting outside or recirculated air!
Finally, the vast majority of these issues started early on....My wife is due for a new car but we have kids in college so held off... This years we will be getting another car. IT WON'T BE A GENERAL MOTORS CAR!!
P.S. There's a lot more but I don't have time or concern to go any further.....
