Consumer recieved recall notice 00T-005 for Firestone Wilderness AT tire (P235/75R15), there was a 40 page waiting list at the local Firestone dealer and the wait was several months, the rf tire had visible cracks in the sidewall, consumer felt it was dangerous to wait several month and had them replaced elsewhere, consumer spent some money out of pocket to replace all five tires and request reimbursement. Vehicle came equipped with five Firestone wilderness tires (P235/75R15) consumer feels he should be reimbursed for 2 tires which were replaced prior to recall 00T-005 because of tire noise while driving, consumer was reimbursed for the other three original tires with the vd serial and believes the other two also had the vd serial number. Nlm
Dealer charged consumr for recall (oot-005) replacement of the Firestone tires, consumer was under the impression that the tire exchange was to be at firestones expense thus consumer request a refund. Nlm
Consumer believes a lesser quality tire was put on in replacement of the Firestone wilderness tires, consumr was also charged for alignment of all the tires which he believes should have been included in the recall. Nlm
Consumers Firestone tires were included in recall 00T-005, consumer was put on 2 different Firestone dealers waiting list to wait for tires to arrive, consumer decided to get five new tires from a competitive tire maker and is requesting reimbursement but Firestone stated consumer must bring in old tires to be reimbursed. Consumer received recall (oot-005) and went to have inspection completed, dealer noticed signs of cracking and said that the tires were included in the recall, however replacement tires were not available, consumer had tires replaced at a Goodyear dealership and wants full reimbursement for expense.
Firestone wilderness tire were included in recall notice 00T-005, dealer had no tires in stock to replace consumer tires and was placed on a waiting list.
Consumer is not satisfied with the recall repair (oot-OO5) for the Firestone tire defect, consumer was charged for additional charges for rotation, consumer believes this should be included in the recall repair, consumer requesting reimbursement.
Vehicle parked. Noticed cracks about 1" from tread on casing. Been to tire retailer & Ford & was informed tires not recalled. Brought different tires for vehicle. Firestone Wilderness AT, original equipment, P235/75R15 with 32,000 miles made at W2 plant.
These tires are not part of the recall however I have seen many many complaints about this tire size on the internet. Additionally my tires have cracks along the sidewall where it meets the tread. The Ford dealer has acknowledged this as a problem and has my name on a "list" for when Firestone decided to recall these tires. My tires were replaced on 7/27/00; just prior to the Firestone recall, therefore, they are not available for inspection. My spare is still with the vehicle, however, and it does not bear the vd mark. My tires were replaced due to tread separation and steel showing as evidenced by my inspection as well as the inspection of the technician servicing my car. I would like to receive full reimbursement for the tires purchased as well as have my spare replaced with the same type of Goodyear tire. (tiresize: P235/75R15)( dot number: Tire size: P235/75R15 )
PE00023; tire tread separation: Owner replaced all 4 tires because of signs of tread separation. There is a crack all around the tread of the tire. Tire size P23575R15, dot # vnhl1py058. The customer gat new tires to avoid tire blow out.
Newspaper has article about families in Florida suiting Ford motors and Firestone about tires. Insured's tire is Firestone wilderness. It blew in acc. (claim# 14-1288-106)
