Tire failure: Firestone all terrain wilderness 235/75/15, tread came off, tire remained inflated, no inj, approx 2 years old, not worn out per Firestone. (claim# 43-R511-299)
Firestone Wilderness AT tire. Rear driver's tire blew and tire tread just peeled off it. Id lost control and rolled 98 Ford Explorer. Advised of findings and E-mailed information listed in document. (claim# 03-3148-617)
Checked on tires after watching program on tv. Noticed front tires were on recall & needed to be replaced. Contacted Firestone retailer & placed on waiting list. Front tires were cracked in the tread. Have been hearing thumping noises for 3 weeks. Firestone, Wilderness AT, P235/75R15 with 10,000 miles.
Thread separation on all four tires. These 16" tires are at the dealership now. Moon twp. Ford immediately replaced these tires when I took it in this afternoon. Something has to be done to recall the 16" tires as well. This is the state of Pennsylvania it is not considered a hot state. Another gentleman had the same problem with his Ford Explorer and his 16 year old daughter was driving. She did lose a tire on the highway in our area just 5 weeks ago and it was also the same tire I am advising you about. Please do something before more people lose their live. Firestone wilderness 235/75/15 tire failure. Insured advised tire blew. It is uncertain if tread separated. 10% wear on tires at time of loss. Insured was pulling a boat and was pulling from toll booth when right rear tire. There were injuries, but health insurance took care of payment. Injury claim never pursed. No salvage, no tire. Insured contact agent regarding media attention. (claim# 13-9504-056)
Ins was traveling South bound on I-95 and rear passenger tire blew out, which was caused by a metal piece in road. Ins said that the veh flipped about six times. Salvage sold and not available, insured now alleges the tire blow out was caused by product defect. Firestone wilderness 235/75R15. (claim# 59-V482-220)
Firstone wilderness 235/75R15. Veh 1 was traveling on 285 when the left rear tire blew out. Veh 1 spun completely around when the tire exploed the tread came off of the tire and hit the driver side of the veh 1. (claim# 11-3496-517)
Please advise if any manuf. Defect on Firestone tires and on rear seatbelts on the Explorer in this situation thanks they are the wilderness tires but he will make photos of them. Only two are flat and that is because it landed on those two when it came to rest and finished it's roll. (claim# 11-3502-573)

Firestone: Insured severely injured in single vehicle roll-over crash. Wilderness tires involved. Witness (truck driver) indicated he thought tire blew. Evidence at scene clearly indicated that the left rear tire was flat prior to this loss-that it blew out from the sidewall. Firestone tire failure-Firestone Wilderness AT (size unknown). Tread separation-insured was driving down highway (interstate 10). Insured felt vibration in rear of vehicl. Insured drove into service station and had tires checked. Attendant advised tires in rear okay. Insured re-entered highway and lost control flipping vehicle over. Tire has been removed and retained. Rep has contacted Firestone. Tire has been shipped to Firestone with certified letter. Firestone has not replied to date. (claim# 24-5124-255)
