CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2002-2005 Explorer has a very well-established record of expensive transmission failure at under 100k miles. The Explorer has an enclosed transmission which is typically replaced with a rebuilt transmission at a cost of almost $3,000.

Adding insult to injury, the 2002-2005 Explorer also has a massive problem with the rear panel cracking. While it's a minor annoyance compared to transmission failure, ironically the crack usually goes right through the Ford logo.

Back window behind drivers seat acts like its hanging up. It jerks and makes noises like the electric motor in the window is about broken. This happen when you put the window down. It's really a pain! You don't know once you put the window down if you will get it it back up.

my windows shake rattle and roll!!!!! when the windows are down half way they rattle badly. the dealership replaced two windows because they wouldn't roll up but the rattle is still there and in all four windows. the dealership states that since they cant visualize the problem or hear it that they wont fix it. its my car right????? what happen to the customer is ALWAYS right? I'm in it, I drive it, I hear it and i wanted it fixed.
