CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2014 Honda Accord is showing signs of an electrical problem with the starter failing soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. It's compounded by reports that the OEM battery doesn't have sufficient amps to start the V6 reliably after a year or two.

For now we are rating this problem with the "Beware" seal because it's occurring so soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. The upshot is when your Accord won't start, that's never good, but especially bad when it's just a few years old.

Also once again, owners are complaining that the 2013 Honda Accord seats are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable seats has been a significant complaint with the Accord since the 2008 model year.

Prior to my Nov. 20, 2012 warranty service visit to Crown Honda, Durham, NC, I reported a metal on metal squeal noise emanating from the front passenger side wheel when turning left at low to medium speeds. At the Nov. 20th warranty service, Crown Honda was directed by the Honda Tech Line to install sensors and a data logger on to specific suspension points to gather vibration data while the car was driven. The result of this analysis was the replacement of the front passenger strut and two other suspension components. As of Dec. 7, 2012, the squeal noise has returned when turning left, but a new clunking noise in the front right suspension is also heard when my Accord is driven over slight dips or spots in the roadway. Have composed a letter to American Honda in Torrence, CA asking for assistance in resolving this and a number of other defects. I also plan to go to a different Honda dealership for all service.

Update from Jan 17, 2013: Update as of Jan. 2013:

American Honda contacted me within days of sending the letter to them and assisted in getting repairs done at AutoPark Honda, Cary, NC. I have had my front passenger suspension parts replaced by AutoPark Honda, including the strut, which was found to have one of three studs broken at the top of the strut. The strut from the factory built car was not broken. The strut was replaced by Crown Honda in Nov. 2012 and the squeal and a new clunk noise persisted after their work. The strut was again replaced by AutoPark Honda in Dec. 2012. How did one of the studs get broken? You decide. So, as of Jan. 2013, all is well with the suspension.
