CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2014 Honda Accord is showing signs of an electrical problem with the starter failing soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. It's compounded by reports that the OEM battery doesn't have sufficient amps to start the V6 reliably after a year or two.
For now we are rating this problem with the "Beware" seal because it's occurring so soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. The upshot is when your Accord won't start, that's never good, but especially bad when it's just a few years old.
Also once again, owners are complaining that the 2014 Honda Accord seats are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable seats has been a significant complaint with the Accord since the 2008 model year.

I was making a left turn and my vehicle steering wheel lost power and my headlights start to blink rapidly. I almost collapsed into another vehicle that was parked on the side street
Steering wheel suddenly locked up on me as I was driving down a 2 lane city street. Conditions were dry, and was in a residential area, so speed limit was 35. Upon not being able to steer the car I ended up hitting a cable line wire, and was spun into the front yard of some townhomes. I ended up also hitting some large rocks and landing in between 2 large trees. Upon coming to a stop, I then realize that the impact had also caused my side airbags to deploy. Due to the loud crash one of the residents came out to see what had happened as I had landed outside of her homes window. I then contacted the local police department, who came and did a report and contact a local towing Agency as the car was not drivable.
I have 4 warning lights on the dash brake, traction, steering and tire pressure warning lights. I was told that it has to due with a faulty ABS control module. The part has been sold out for some time. When I talked to the gentleman at the shop he told me that a lot people have been having a problem with this. The light are always on the car drives fine but I'm worried because it controls all of the safety associated with the car.
The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while the vehicle was in park, the power steering, tire pressure measuring system, traction control, ABS, lane departure, and forward collision warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to cambridge Honda (275 fresh pond pkwy, cambridge, MA 02138) where the failure was diagnosed as a vsa modulator failure, however the vsa modulator part was on backorder. The contact informed the manufacturer of the failure. The manufacturer referred the contact back to the dealer since the part was on backorder. No further assistance was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 86,000. The VIN was unavailable.

I AM INQUIRING ON MY VEHICLE BECAUSE I RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE. WHEN I PUT MY CAR IN DRIVE, REVERSE, NEUTRAL, OR PARK, SPORT I CANNOT SEE THE LIGHT ON THE SYSTEM. IT CONSTANTLY BLINKS LIKE IT'S STUCK. I HAVE BROUGHT THIS UP NUMEROUS TIMES TO DIFFERENT HONDA DEALERS. I AM IN THE MILITARY AND ACTIVE DUTY SO I USE MY VEHICLE TO DRIVE FOR WORK. IT ALSO HAS CONNECTION ISSUES WITH MY BLUETOOTH WHEN I TRY TO CONNECT MY PHONE OR NEED TO TAKE A PHONE CALL. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A FEW YEARS AND I STILL HAVE MY DOCUMENTATION AND RECEIPTS FOR ALL THE HONDAS AND SERVICE DEALERS THAT HAVE PREFORMED SERVICES ON MY CAR AND IT NEVER GETS FIXED OR RESOLVED AND DATES BACK ALL THE WAY FROM 2016-2020. THERE HAS BEEN TIMES WHEN I TURN MY CAR ON IN THE MORNING AND THE TEMPERATURE AND SCREENS ARE ALL SCRAMBLED AS WELL. I ADDED ALL MY RECEIPTS AND I HAVE SPENT OVER $6,007.23 TO BE EXACT ON MY CAR REPAIRS AND STILL NO RESOLUTION FOR THE ELECTRICAL ERRORS THAT KEEP HAPPENING. I DO HOPE SOMEONE CAN RESOLVE THIS ISSUE AND MY SAFETY CONCERNS ON MY VEHICLE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND I CAN BE CONTACTED BELOW. 2014 Honda Accord had vsa, ABS, tire pressure and eps (steering) lights all come on at random and turn off at random. There is also a loss of steering accuracy at low speeds (lower than 5mph) on full lock. ABS would engage under braking at low speeds - at times when the ABS was not necessary to help the stopping of the vehicle, as well and engage and random times (10-25mph roughly). Honda dealership wants $1920 to fix the issue, and stated that they suggest not to drive the vehicle until the problem is fixed due to it being a safety issue. I feel this is indeed a safety issue for not only the driver, but others on the road. I am making this complaint so that both Honda and the NHTSA can understand that this is happening and can correct it and recall it. If the us government mandates (since Sept 1, 2013) cars must have ABS and electronic stability control (Honda's calls it vsa) than how is this okay to let Honda on the road with these failures. At the high price to fix this issue I doubt many Honda owners are willing to afford it.
Driving on a country road, lights came on regarding steering and braking I drove for another 1/2-1 mile. Snowing conditions - lost steering and brakes and the car went off the road, hitting a sign for an upcoming curve
I was driving and my steering wheel locked up and it was hard to turn I was heading to work on the highway and the same problem happened when I was driving back home
In motion, lost steering - power steering became disabled. Fcw failure warning lights came on the dash and I pulled over. Stopped the car. Restarted and the lights cleared. Ran okay going home. Started next day and fcw lights came on again. The following 3 days the car ran fine, no alarm lights. Issue seems intermittent and seems dangerous if you can lose steering underway. Searched internet, seems like a lot of fcw failures and this electronic module apparently controls braking, steering, idle, transmission, etc.
The eps, brake, and ABS lights came on when I started the car and would not go off. We took the car to our mechanic who after doing diagnostics told us we need to take our car to a Honda dealer and not drive any more than we had to for safety reasons. The dealer determined it was the vsa modulator and cost $1788.78 to repair. Really disgusted with Honda as I read online where there have been several other Honda owners with the same problem yet there is still no recall on this problem!
I turned my car on one day and the light with the car and a squiggly line under started flashing then moments later the tire pressure light with the exclamation mark came on then weeks following the steering wheel light with the ! came on. I took my car to the tire place to check and they said nothing is wrong and after months of going back almost weekly at this point one of the techs says he heard other Honda Accord's were having the same problem and that it may be a false reading. Then after some weeks my ABS and brake light came on. At first it was only in the afternoon or later these light would come on but now it's whenever. Sometimes they go off after I start driving but then they eventually come back on. I looked on google and it appears this has happened to others stating there was some kind of faulty box thingy that is used to communicate between the lights going off and the car. I don't have the money to get someone to do all of this and if there are others having the same problem did Honda use a faulty part as others are saying? please help
The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. While driving 30 mph, the steering seized and the brake warning indicator illuminated. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a tree. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic for body and other repairs. The cause of the failure was not determined. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 60,000.
Electronic power steering failure at less than 90,000 miles. Had we been driving at a higher speed, we and others on the road would have been seriously injured or killed. Without any warning, the electronic power steering failed and it was nearly impossible to steer. It took all my strength to turn the steering wheel.
Went christmas shopping, came out of best buy and started car to go home, noticed that the steering wheel would not turn. Turned car off, restarted and noticed the same thing. While trying to turn it, it pulsates, as if the system is acting up. Used uber to get home. Came back the next day, the same thing. Did some research on google, the only way to bypass power steering is to pull the fuse so we pulled the fuse and drove car home in manual steering mode. Checked car with obd2 scanner, no codes. Called Honda and they said these cars don't have steering problems. However, when I checked on google, it looks like Honda has had a lot of problems with steering issues in the 2013/2014 Accord.
While driving on a highway (2014 Honda Accord, 42000 mile) warning lights for brakes, elec. Stability control (vsa vehicle stability assist), power steering, and abc came on and stayed on for while. They started then to go away for a few miles then stay on most of the time. The car ABS system started acting up when braking and ABS does not engage. I had it checked at the dealer on August 21, 2018 and they indicated that the vsa modulator needs replacement and it is communicating with other systems and components and causing all 4 warning lights to come on. They said the repair will cost $1565. This failure is very premature for such a car than had only 42,000 miles at the time it occurred.
Randomly the ABS, brake, traction, and steering wheel indicators appeared after starting the car and moving in motion to go to the store. No warnings preceded. After being checked by a mechanic, it was diagnosed as having a bad modulator. The indicator light continues to pop up each trip. Since having the car, the starter was replaced less than a year ago.
The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. When the gear was in reverse, the steering wheel shook and the steering indicator illuminated. The contact also stated that the steering lost power. The dealer was not called and the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure was neither diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 101,000.
