I had just bought this Nissan Altima 2000 and was driving to Hilton Head from Atlanta. 2 hours into the trip, the cruise control stopped working and the Airbag light came on. The car started slowing down and would not gain speed. Than suddenly someone hit me from behind and flung us around. My girlfriend broke her hip in 3 places and I broke by nose. Lucky to be alive. I have had a Nissan before and this shouldn't have happen. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Altima

  • Automatic transmission
  • 186,000 miles

Engine seems to run fine other than it has about half the power it had before last week. Car takes forever to get up to speed. Had the fuel filter replaced, also checked fuel pressure, air filter, transmission shop said it's not the tranny; it's not the head gasket. It's not shaking like a lot of people on the forums report regarding their power problems w/ Altimas. Any ideas?

Altima GLE 4 cylinder

  • Automatic transmission
  • 89,000 miles

My nissan altima GLE model was purchased brand new in October 2000. Three years ago in April 2007 I had to get my manifold valve replaced when the car had only 50,000 miles on I called headquarters and their was nothing they could do to help me so I had to eat the $1,800.00 cost. Now three and a half years later my car still only has 89,000 miles on it and as of today it is back in the Nissan shop with the same problem. This time the cost will be 2.093.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not happy I should not be replacing this part already. my guess is that it was not put in correctly can someone help me ????
