In the dark, low beam headlights are too dim. I have to use high beams all the time, causing other drivers to have limited visibility due to high beams being on.
There was no incident, but the halogen projector beam headlamps have become progressively more dim over time due to a manufacturing defect which caused delamination and degradation of the reflective surfaces within the headlamp assembly. The problem has gotten so severe that it is unsafe to drive the car at night because of reduced visibility due to the dim headlamps. This is NOT due to hazy or cloudy plastic lenses of the headlamp housing, which is common to all vehicles with plastic lenses. My lenses are still clear and even in vehicles I've driven with very cloudy lenses, the lamps are much brighter than mine. Apparently, this is a widespread issue with these Nissan Altima halogen projector beam headlamps. Nissan has refused to acknowledge this problem. This is a life safety issue that should be addressed by a recall. Please provide a complaint number or confirmation of this report in the event that an incident related to this issue should arise which may require litigation.
The headlights are not bright which causes it to be difficult to see. Also headlights keeps going out with constant replacement of bulbs. The headlights ballast are not durable
Just purchased this car used from a dealer. Upon driving it at night I-€™ve found the low beam headlights are significantly dim. This is a serious safety concern.after doing research on this issue I-€™ve found that the reflector bulbs inside the headlight assy burn off the reflective coating thereby rendering the bulbs ability to broad at light very poor.
The dim headlights are a safety issue. I can't see how to drive at night or in the evening. I have to turn bright lights on, and it is putting other drivers at risk. Nissan is aware of this issue and wants to say that if you are out of your basic warranty you may not be able to get the light repair under goodwill. This is not the fault of their customers and they should be responsible for their additional money-making tactics. I have owned many vehicles and have never had this issue. I am not the only person who is experiencing this problem. I do not have the $1250 they are requesting to get my headlights repaired so they stuck two dim headlight bulbs in, and I still can't see. This is a dangerous issue for me and other drives. I want them to repair this issue. I just paid off my car this month $30,000 with no late payments. They should be happy to repair this safety issue. I checked for a recall and I see that there is a current investigation regarding dimming headlights for 2013-2019 Nissan Altima's. The vehicle was inspected, and they want me to pay. The headlight assemblies "chrome" reflective material for the low beam bulbs has faded and blackened. This has resulted in very low light being emitted from the low beam light setting. This is a very dangerous problem that Nissan needs to address.
My problems started about 2 years ago when I was having some difficulty turning in dark intersections at night. I couldn't see well enough to comfortably navigate the intersection. Now it is so bad that I have trouble on dark city streets at night seeing upcoming curves, intersections, or anything out more than about 20' out. Turning on bright lights fixes the visibility problem, but of course causes additional issues for oncoming traffic. I thought perhaps I had eye problems and have been to an ophthalmologist twice and they find nothing wrong with my night vision. I have no accident report or police reports to add to my concern yet. Guess you will just need to trust that what I'm describing is a safety concern that deserves your attention. Thank you in advance for your help with this issue.
Headlights on low beam have become dimmer over time.on Nissan forums this is a problem on different cars. This is a safety issue that needs to be addressed.
The head lights barely works at night. It looks as if I don;T have them on. Get a lot of complaints from people. After meeting another car you have to stop at night. I have 2006 Nissan Sentra never had this problem.
Regarding my 2015 Nissan Altima...the headlamps are a safety hazard. Far too dim! I am constantly asked by passengers if I have my lights on. To be safe, I need to use my high beams; which in itself is not safe, however since oncoming drivers rarely flash their high beams back at me, I assume they aren't very bright either. Complaints like this for this car are all over the internet and I have a hard time believing it hasn't been brought to your attention. There needs to be a recall on this. This is a major safety issue. This isn't a matter of changing the bulbs. I'm no mechanic, but it seems to be a projector issue causing many owners to replace the headlight assembly. Since this isn't a cosmetic issue, but safety, why has this not been recalled? it seems to affect 2013 through 2015 models the most. Since there is no date to report, and this form required one for completion, I am putting January 1st 2015 as a date.
The headlights in the car are extremely dim, causing a major issue with visibility at night. This has been an issue since 2016 and I purchased the vehicle brand new in 2015 and have been the sole owner of the vehicle. I complained to the dealer about the lack of visibility at darkness and they replaced the bulbs, which did not change anything. I was instructed by the dealer that it is a common problem with the projector lens, not the bulbs. This issue has been reported in the 2013 - 2015 Nissan Altima's, yet Nissan has not recalled it. I fear this issue will cause a terrible accident.
Hello, I drive a 2015 Nissan Altima. I'm writing because I believe the headlight assembly on this vehicle are defective. They've quickly corroded and do not provide the proper lighting for safe driving at night. The lighting is extremely dim, and hazy at all times. I often have to use my fog lights to drive at night which are brighter than my headlights. If I'm able to without impacting another drivers vision I have to drive with high beams. I am a 22 year old with 20/20 vision so therefore the issue is not my own vision or motor skills. I have replaced both headlights 2 times in the past year with high grade headlights and it has made zero difference. I also see this is a common problem with this generation of Nissan Altima's. the vehicle has this issue at all times.
Extremely low visbility. Bo matter how many timesbive changed or adjusting my headlights/bulbs there is no improvement at all. I finally changed the entire headlight itself and now I can finally see 2 feet in front of when its dark out. Nissan used horrible quality headlights at the cost of driver safety.
Low beam headlights are very dim. Honestly I can't remember if they were ever good when I bought the car bran new. No matter what light bulb I put in there doesn't make a difference they are dim.
Dim low beam headlights the low beam head lights are very dim and it has happened progressively. Replacing the bulb does not resolve the issue and necescetates driving with the high-beam head lights, which is dangerous for other drivers.
