windshield cracked for no reason windshield cracked for no reason

The car was from Budget Car Rental. It had a dirty windshield when I picked it up for a weekend wedding, out of state. During the weekend one crack appeared even though we had no incident. Nor was there any sign of trauma or dings to the rest of the car.

It appears to be a severe failure in quality control and I will avoid ever renting that make again. I have no idea what this will cost or if my credit card insurance will cover it?

I had only been driving my car for less than two weeks when I got in my car to drive to work. I noticed my windshield was cracked. It was coming from the very top of the windshield on the drivers side. the crack went to the center of the windshield. a couple of days later the crack made a U-turn in the shape of an S and continued back across the drives side. Now there is some kind of black foam starting to bulge out between the windshield and the dash on the drivers side.

I went to the salesman at the dealership where I purchased the car. On the phone he told me he didn't know anything about windshields but when I got there he told me, oh something hit your windshield (no something did not). When I showed him the black foam he said that happens when you crack your windshield and from the heat. (NO). I do not accept his dismissive attitude, nor do I appreciate this young man talking to me like I am an old lady that is clueless. I am very unsatisfied with the lack of service and concern now that the purchase has been completed.

Thank you for hearing me.

I have yet to stop at the dealership to see whether or not Nissan will cover the cost of replacement.

I notice that there was a crack in the center top of the windshield. It starts at the top and goes down and curves like it was cut. No jagged edges, just smooth.

Had my Nissan Ultima for 4 days. This morning I jumped in the car, turned it on, put it in gear, released the break and boom! I heard a crack by where the front passenger's feet would rest. I really thought that was weird, I looked around and didn't see anything. I went on about my day. Came back home around 11am. Parked the car on my driveway. There aren't any trees around or anything that could harm the car. I sat in my (while on the phone) car for a good 20-25 minutes before getting out. I was looking out the windshield and everything was great.

At around 1:30pm i walk out my door, turn to look at the car, and boom! there is a huge crack on my windshield and guess where its coming from.... from deep under the plastic by hood on the passenger side. Urrrrgggg.

I called the Nissan dealership and the sounds like he can't do anything for me, but wants me to go to have the car inspected.
