CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 has a growing number of transmission complaints at low mileage. The issue is part of a class-action lawsuit that says the transmissions shake violently during acceleration between 15mph and 30mph.
Two of the door handles have broken. The driver side door first and was covered under warranty. It happened again on the passenger side rear door. The second time was at 93K miles and was not covered even though it was a known issue with this car.
So yesterday our passenger door handle broke so you cannot open the door from the inside of the vehicle. You can open it from the outside or you can roll down the window and open it from the outside handle. This is now the 4th handle in our pathfinder that has broken. First was the driver door then both rear doors and now the passenger door. The first 3 were covered under warranty/extended warranty but the latest one is not. I personally love it when the dealership tells you that they are not aware of the issue... so frustrating unless maybe just maybe my pathfinder is the only one on the planet with the issue!?!?!
Interior door handle broke, trapped client in my car, about a month later, the interior driver door handle broke, trapping me inside. This should be covered as a safety feature, when you can't get out of your car- YIKES.
$136 x 2 = $272 extended warranty wouldn't cover said it was cosmetic; what's cosmetic about being trapped in your car???

My handle broke for a second time. The first time was under warranty, the second time they told me it was not covered by my extended warranty which I asked them to show me a copy and the handles are specifically mentioned. So they fixed it the second time under extended warranty.
I never had so much troubles with a vehicle or a dealer in my life. When we bought a new car for my wife, believe me it's not a Nissan.
My front passenger and driver handles have both broken since I've owned my car. They broke about 6 months apart from each other. Luckily, the service person I go to at our local Nissan is wonderful and he fixed them for free both times.
Went to exit the car on the weekend and suddenly the inside door handle for the driver broke... now i need someone to open the door for me or i need to open my window and open the door from the outside!! very convenient!!
upon trying to leave my car something in the handle made a noise and it stopped working. i have to either have someone let me out of the car, or roll down the window to reach the outside handle. what if there is an emergency and i can not exist the car. i tend to buy brand new cars and drive them for upward of 150k miles. i've never had this happen with any other make. its really poor engineering and should be recalled due to safety issue.
Driver's inside door handle broke. Not covered under warranty because it happened at 37,500 miles. $134 to fix. Just another in the long list of things that are breaking on this car! Stay away. Can't wait to get rid of this & will never buy a Nissan again.
I was leery buying a first year production model. Very common problem. We're now fighting on our third handle breaking. First the driver interior handle repaired under warranty. Rear passenger door handle broke was repaired past warranty only because we had documented last two oil changes to repair handle. Before warranty expired. But the dealer twice took the parts needed for repair and used them on other broken handles. Two times the wife shows up and the parts are used on other customers cars. Third try they finally repaired the door under warranty after making a stink. Not one month later the driver door breaks again. Were sorry its not under warranty. They won't honor the extended warranty they sold to us when we bought the car. And are going to charge a diagnostic fee on top of P&L. Estimate is $300. Told them to pound sand. Took the car and looking to trade it across the street at another dealer. And don't forget the countless software upgrades for the POS transmission. Done with Nissan.
Part is an issue with several models, when asked parts dept they informed they keep the part due to failures in several models. Part needs to be warranty extended.
