CarComplaints.com Notes: You should probably steer clear of the 2012 Focus. Otherwise, you might not be able to steer at all.

The 2012 is the first Focus to offer Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS). It's also the first year with massive power steering failure. These things are not mutually exclusive.

And while you wait for your steering to disappear, you'll be greeted with a transmission that shudders, vibrates or won't shift at all.

Wipers don't work due to malfunction of electrical housing. This was part of a recall for 2012 Ford Focus cars, but my VIN didn't qualify because it wasn't manufactured during the time captured in the recall notice. However, I'm experiencing the same problem as uncovered in the recall notice. Coincidence? I think NOT!!!

Ford will not reimburse me for any of the necessary work to repair this problem.

windshield wipers go on randomly both front and back wiper

This is a dangerous situation, can cause a car crash, when windshield wipers are randomly going on and off, changing speeds from slow to fast. Additionally the back windshield wipers are also malfunctioning and going on and off at random times.

Update from Jul 5, 2016: I also wanted to mention there was a recall in 2012 for the passenger windshield wiper...however the previous owner did not take advantage of the recall. Since the recall is over 2 years old and has passed the 12,000 miles included in warranty I am unable to get it covered. Had the previous owner paid attention to the recalls I might not be dealing with this headache! I purchased the car in 2014 - now I have to pay for whatever needs to be fixed out of pocket. My car is in the shop and I may have to get a rental because the service technician, who is incredibly bad at customer service at South Bay Ford off Rosecrans in Hawhorne, CA can not even figure out an estimated time frame of when my car will be ready. Can't even say 1 day, 2 days, 3 days. Honda has MUCH better customer service hands down!
