CarComplaints.com Notes: You should probably steer clear of the 2012 Focus. Otherwise, you might not be able to steer at all.

The 2012 is the first Focus to offer Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS). It's also the first year with massive power steering failure. These things are not mutually exclusive.

And while you wait for your steering to disappear, you'll be greeted with a transmission that shudders, vibrates or won't shift at all.

2012 Ford Focus 24,000 miles. During routine maintenance performed by the dealer, it was discovered that a pair of tires had severe abnormal wear. Tires have been rotated per car manufacture specifications. Dealer reported this is normal for this car and purchasing a new pair of tires would resolve this issue. Upon my investigation, cupping in a 2012 Ford Focus is directly related to no camber adjustment to the rear suspension. Cupping also reduces traction and braking power. My concern is for safety, and believe the car manufacture has failed to properly design the geometry of the suspension correctly to meet.
