Extreme stalling problems driving on freeway and going on inclines. Car has heavy jerking at stop and go speeds. Transmission light came on asking to pull over and wait 6 minutes for overheating. 3 times in less than a year car has been to the shop
Horn - began working intermittedly, then not at all. First noticed when locking and setting alarm, then while driving at normal speed or at a stand still
Entire electrical sync system has shut down and no longer functions. While the sync was going out, the speakers would crackle and make loud, startling pop sounds. This caused jerky driving as they would pop without any notice, even if the sync system was turned off. Recently, the wind shield wipers turned on and were sporadically increasing/decreasing in speed and would not turn off. The car was on (not the engine) and parked when the wipers turned on. Attempted to turn the car off, reset by opening the doors, and turning the car back on. They paused and then started up again once the car was driving on city streets. The speakers popping and the radio malfunction occurs while driving, while parked, when the car is on, and when it is off. This problem has been getting worse and worse over the past year.
Takata recall amongst the known recalls, is a lot of unsaid issues with this vehicle. It started with the tcm. When I had the dealer fix it, the codes were showing ok but the vehicle continued to display the same issues when trying to accelerate. For some reason when driving, it seems as if I'm driving a manual vehicle instead of a automatic. The clutch is giving me problems. It tend to get stuck in the hill assist mode. A few weeks ago my car just died. It seemed to be the battery. When replaced it was ok for a day or so. I had it checked to see if my alternator was bad. It both places stayed it was fine. Periodically it would stop. It didn't seem like there where any determining factors on when (like cold or hot weather). So I drove it less. One day when driving, going 46 mph, it just shut down. The screen showed 'not in park', starting system fault and it would not allow me to place the vehicle in neutral. It then began to start and stop whenever. The grounds were checked, the starter, the alternator, the fuse and orhers. My horn would sometimes go out for days, up to weeks. When trying to start the car, it would eventually flash 'normal mode'. it's so many things going on here! I fear all the time with this car. When the tcm started acting up, it stopped while driving too. I'm a mother of 5, I've has this car for 4 years as for the past 2yrs I've been living in fear of my children and I dying in this car. I've spent more money buying rentals and having others assist with transportation when this car acts up, I could've paid half of my last 2yrs off. This is not fair because everyone doesn't have the ability to just get up a go trade in a car or walk away. I've been having different problems for over 2 yrs now but when it shut off while driving on the highway, it was in the beginning of September 2018 (this month) it got worst and I had it towed to the dealer.

Radio keeps shutting off and making a crackling noise thru speakers, will not work for days at time and also going down road the car completely shut down and started back on it's own. The crackling noise is on going with or without key in ignition, also after filling all the way up with gas car doesn't want to start back up, safety light stays
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus SE. While the vehicle was stationary and while driving various speeds, the windshield wipers failed to operate. While the vehicle was idling at a red light, the windshield wipers spontaneously began moving back and forth. Three months ago, while driving various high speeds on the freeway, both windshield wipers spontaneously activated. Once the contact arrived at his destination, the contact turned off the vehicle and the failure recurred. The contact stated that the failure occurred continuously until the fuse to the windshield wipers was removed. A dealer and the manufacturer were not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000.
Vehicle transmission will not shift promptly, RPM's rev over 3 to 4 RPM's before shifting casing jerking, shuddering, jolt car backwards coming to a slow and steady stop. Red warning lights on dash console indicating emergency problem & unsafe to drive.
My car would stall when I was turning or driving, but at first I could turn it off and back on and it would run just fine. Then my car started showing me that I had a full tank of gas when I didn't. I found out that the issue is the gas tank, a $450 fix. These plastic gas tanks are collapsing on itself, my friend had a 2012 Focus and was told that the gas tank was shrinking and that it would keep shrinking until the gas tank was almost completely gone. This needs to be a recall!!!
"door ajar" warning appears for front passenger door even when door is correctly closed. Leads to a cascade of other issues, biggest safety issue would be doors may all refuse to lock at various times. Also runs various lights after parking vehicle, might affect battery charge. I believe the door closed sensor is failing, this is the lock mechanism that was replaced in an earlier recall. Problem began about a month ago, at around 33,000 miles. My door latches were replaced in December 2017 at 21,000 miles.
All since purchase in Jan 2014. Within a few months of new purchase: Electrical issues and errors unknown to Ford, need for transmission swap, 2 or 3 recalls re transmission and door replacement, horn stopped working (while in 65mph traffic I95 and almost in an accident). Constantly in shop and continual issues with stalling (once, stopped in 65mph traffic on major interstate I95 in left lane), synch and phone system has never worked correctly. 3 weeks ago, after stopped at a traffic light in rush hour traffic in philadelphia, depressed gas pedal and went in total reverse! did this twice before completely turning car off and had to be towed.
Recall received on door latches. However when calling dealer to schedule no return call only solicitation calls on warranty. Trunk used to open 1 push of button now trunk will not open however when in reverse trunk chime comes on saying trunk is open. When taking off from a stopped position vehicle starts to go then completely loses power happens after clutch is completely released in motion just falls on its face then immediately comes out of it infrequent but dangerous eveident since new.. traction control is accessed through radio. Radio stopped working 22000. Some doors do not all unlock infrequently. Wiper infrequently stop working and park in middle of winshield
Hello, today I got into an accident. I hydroplaned and went into a guide rail on the interstate going about 50mph. My friend and I are having major problems with our backs and necks and my airbags didn't deploy. This isn't the first time I've gotten into accident and they didn't deploy. The first time wasn't life threatening but this one was. I don't have any recollection of the accident and I am not able to remember much of yesterday either. I feel like there was something wrong with my vehicle before my accident due to my passenger air bag light kept flickering on and off before the accident and now this happening. Please contact me back on my course of action on what I should take. Thanks, sincerely [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
Some 2011-2016 fiesta and 2012-2016 Focus vehicles equipped with a dps6 transmission may exhibit intermittent concerns of loss of transmission engagement while driving, intermittent no syart or loss of power. These symptoms are usually accompanied by an illuminated check engine lamp. Additionally, symptoms may include messages in the message center indicating hill start assist is not available, that parking aid malfunction/ service is required or the transmission prndl/S gear selector on the instrument cluster may flash. Diagnostic trouble codes dtcs U0100, U0101, U1013 and/or P0606 will be present or stored in the powrttrain control module (PCM). I turned on car from walmart parking lot. A message appeared on saying transmission fault service now and check engine lamp came on. As I drove back home the car pulls back as I stop at a traffic light. Took it to carmax and they said to take it a place to check transmission. Baumann complete auto repair center said that the car needs to be completely reprogrammed. Tsb 16-0129.
The horn quit sounding upon activation by the horn relay switch on the steering wheel. It does not sound when pressing the remote twice to confirm it's locked up. It does not sound when the alarm is activated. The fuse is ok. The horn relay does not click when horn relay switch on steering wheel is depressed. The wires are all intact and connected. I took it to a Ford dealer. They said it would cost $200-300 and need the car for 2 days. According to all the complaints and concerns about this issue on various websites, thousands of owners of Ford Focus have the same issue with the same response from the dealership.
The contact owned a 2014 Ford Focus. While exiting the highway approaching an exit ramp, the vehicle stalled. The instrument panel cluster went completely blank and there was a sudden loss of power. The brakes were difficult to apply and the contact crossed over four lanes of traffic and struck a median. None of the air bags deployed. The vehicle was not inspected and diagnosed by a dealer. The vehicle was towed to a yard and deemed destroyed due to the failures. A police report was not filed. The driver sustained minor bruising that did not require medical attention. The manufacturer was notified of the crash after it happened. The VIN and failure mileage were not available.
Horn frequently goes intermittent for weeks at a time, this occurs while driving in both city and highway conditions and when the vehicle is parked. This has caused numerous near collisions as I am unable to make other vehicles aware of a situation as they try to merge in my lane. Replacement of the horn assembly has not resolved the issue, and testing by the dealer has numerous fault codes when the horn does fail indicating a short. TPMS sensor fault has now recently come on when actuating the horn and dealer is still trying to isolate the cause of this new issue.
While driving at 35 mph, the engine stalled without warning & would not restart. Dash displayed "engine fault, service soon." Had vehicle towed to local dealership. Dealer checked the codes and found multiple engine controller faults. Said it was a bad wiring harness. This is a SE model with 2.0 L engine, but Ford has a recall on the St model with 2.0L engine for the same failure mode and cause (wiring harness). Ford did "participate" in the repair ($250 out of $1500) wiring harness was retained by owner for review and analysis..
