Consumer noticed tread had cracked open in center of tire an is separating from the carcass, discovered this when rotating tires, and this is tire involved in a recall.(Firestone affinity tires, dot number, W1unaab418)
Recall 00 020/tire failure: Right rear tire experienced three flats while driving a 1999, Nissan, Altima; original equipment, tire size P195/65R15, dot# unvailable. After third incident tire was taken to an independent shop, and informed consumer that treads were separating from tire, tire was replaced by an independent shop, and Firestone was notified. Tires are Firestone affinity, dot number of one tire was W206aab069, mechanic stated one failure was due to the flab.
Left front tire shredded while driving (contiental-general tire) causing a near accident, right front tire started to experienced tread separation a few weeks later. Nlm
