i took it to an auto shop - the fan was always running really loud after i shut my car off - they said it was normal. next thing you know my radiator cracked and coolant reservoir was leaking . an expensive and annoying repair that left me stranded on the way home one night .

Cooling fan continued to run after car was turned off. Car never over-heated, but I the problem was caught when the "service engine soon" light came on.
