The contact owns a 2000 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that she purchased two sets and received one free set of cooper lifeliner touring sle tires in April of 2004. The vehicle has been to the dealer for regularly scheduled maintenance and she does not know why the tread on the tires has worn so quickly and unevenly. The second set of tires was replaced on June 12, 2006 and the third set was replaced on January 2, 2007. The second set of tires, which were received for free, was replaced at less than 30,000 miles. The purchase date was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 130,300. Eq-10204089-4200,12/19/07. The consumer stated purchased 4 tires on 12/08/04, 06/12/06, and 12/18/06. Updated 12/12/07
The left front tire experienced tread separation. All four tires experienced tread separation on the sidewall. One tire blew out when the separation occurred while in motion. Firestone replaced all four tires.
Consumer received a letter from Firestone in reference to a possible defect with his tires, consumer replaced tires per the letter that was received, however consumer was denied reimbursement from Firestone stating that the tire size which consumer owned was not apart of the recall, consumer states the size is listed as apart of the recall, and is seeking reimbursement (Firestone tires/W2 T2 VF3 130)
The consumer was charged for a wheel alignment after recall repair 01V-065 was performed, the consumer is requesting reimbursement (Firestone firehawk gta-02, P205/R1689H). Nlm
Faulty Firestone firehawk tires caused consumer to loose control of vehicle, it was determined that all four tires were the recalled tires from Firestone and there was also some steering damage, consumer is requesting reimbursemt.
Consumer took vehicle in for replacement of Firestone tires, only 3 out of 4 tires where replaced, was advised by mechanic that the 4th tire was not a Firestone tire, consumer explained that the tire experienced a blow out and had to have it replaced prior to recall, consumer is requesting reimbursement for all 4 tires.
While traveling on I-85 crossing the nc line into vir. The middle section of the right rear tire peeled completely off leaving only 1or 2 inches left on the rim. This incident could have resulted in a fatality. Something should be done to alert all consumers about this problem. (tiresize: P205/55R16)( dot number: Tire size: P205/55R16 )
